Inspiron
Apr 12 2005, 03:36 PM
| | In future, humans are bio-computers.. We all might be robots.. Image an OS installed to your brain.. Invincible "harddisk" that you cannot buy...
And, the future army will be overpowerful.. Imagine autofire of a machine gun once a soldier sees an enemy...? This soldier don't even have to touch that gun, he "thinks" to fire the weapon...
Scary rather... |

Inspiron, while rather exaggerated, brings up a good point. I've heard of cyborg implants that will do similar things, and that private weapons companies are developing them now. If things like that were made, it would cause some pretty deep scars. But then again, we can always fry them all with EMP's. And that brings up -another- topic. EMP warfare. Once terrorists get a brain, and learn that they can use EMP to take out power grids of major economical and political centers, what are we gonna do about that? That's the scary part.

Woah what a scary thought. Hmm... split second reaction? Haha. But I think it's taking it a bit too... extreme. I mean, is it really necessary? Sticking a piece of metal into your brain so that you can do things like switch your TV on or off at will is a bit.... unappealing to me. No, actually... very unappealing. Imagine living as a machine.... or a biomachine... Some EMP comes your way and you're literally screwed.

Yeah, this stuff is pretty creepy once you think about it. Also as hybrid said, an EMP will fry your brain!

Amd Seen Close To $5.5 Billion Chip Deal
(1) I just saw this : QUOTE Advanced Micro Devices, the No. 2 supplier of computer processors, is
close to a deal to buy graphics chip maker ATI for $5.5 billion, a source familiar with the
situation said on Friday. Any such deal would shake up the processor industry, which is witnessing
a battle over market share between AMD and larger rival Intel (Charts). ATI (Charts) is one of two
major graphics chips makers, along with rival Nvidia (Charts), and is a big supplier of chipsets -
the cluster of secondary chips and interfaces that surround a computer's proce....

Brain In Jar Plays Quake 3.
Scientists grow brain and teach it to play Quake. (9) Update: This is fake, but was based on valid research carried out by an actual scientist, so the
idea is still valid, p.s. yes I do feel like an idiot btw.
http://home.actlab.utexas.edu/~dbailey/pressrelease.html Kind of old so sorry if its been posted
before. (search didn't show it, or I didn't search hard enough) Anyway as you may have
guessed some scientists in Texas (where else?) have grown a 'brain'. The Brain, constructed
from dog neurons, was wierd up to quake 3 arena where they set it against a bot. Its progress was

their telephone number. Also, for a low cost, you can purchase a plan that allows your computer to
send a call to any actual telephone in the USA or Canada. However, GloPhone is not the only VoIP

Lamp Eel Nerve Centers - Used To Heal Paraplegics?
Come in and discuss your thoughts.. (1) I was watching a television program a few nights ago called 'Beyond Tommorow'. They had a
segment on about a engeneering breakthrough. A university in North America have discovered that a
unique sea eel (Lamp Eel) has INDIVIDUAL nerve centres in every part of it's spinal cord. The
university started to study the nerve waves and record it, transfer it to digital data and then send
it into an artificial robot. These nerve waves made this robot walk in a human-like way. Soon this
university plans to make two microchips to implant in the broken spinal cord of a....
