QUOTE Mind over matter: He can think his TV on and off, change channels and alter the volume thanks to the technology and software linked to devices in his home. Read the article in full here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4396387.stmmy thoughts (without the benefit of a brain chip as of yet ): amazing! and immensely beneficial for people who have lost their motor skills. but will it remain in the threshold of use by paralyzed people only? will there come a time when even non-paralyzed people can have implants such as this, for the sheer pleasure of having the capacity to control mechanical devices by way of thought, like a neat party trick one can hide 'under one's sleeve'? "Hey, look! I will think of a number, and see it flash on screen!" even if you don't need it, would you consider having a brain chip to read your thoughts and control external objects? it's possible, right? of course i just gave a mundane example above, but what would you do if you have some power over matter with your mind?

I don't think that I would feel comfortable with something like that in my brain. What if something malfunctions with the chip? Even if nothing malfunctions, I still wouldn't want one. I think that their taking technology too far. I understand that it could be benefitial for people who can't use their arms or legs, but it also has downsides. With something like this, people would become lazy. I don't really feel like going through the all of the downsides. Just my opinion.

i'm pretty sure if i were paralyzed, i'd be closely watching this. i mean, we wouldn't be able even use a computer if paralyzed, life would be completely different. good for them. i can just see it now, though, you get spam or some crap in your brain ... or someone sending signals to make your body do something, and there's nothing you can do about it. sounds like a science fiction book or something.

Really are you believing all this stuff? Well I know that technology is rapidly being improved but I think that the era that we'll have the ability to put micro-chips in our heads is far far away. Maybe by the year 2597 the surgery will have the ability to put on you neon lights in order to be cool! !!?

Not just based on this article, but on numerous articles that I have read in the past about microchips in the brain. Imagine what they could do if they had someone implant microships into their brain. They could read someone's thoughts and do whatever they want with them (ie. brainwashing). They could make someone think the way they want him/her to think! And when I say "they" I mean the government, large companies, etc. It's pretty scary stuff if you ask me. It's like a sci-fi movie, but it's actually real.

Woah what a scary thought. Hmm... split second reaction? Haha. But I think it's taking it a bit too... extreme. I mean, is it really necessary? Sticking a piece of metal into your brain so that you can do things like switch your TV on or off at will is a bit.... unappealing to me. No, actually... very unappealing. Imagine living as a machine.... or a biomachine... Some EMP comes your way and you're literally screwed.

Inspiron, while rather exaggerated, brings up a good point. I've heard of cyborg implants that will do similar things, and that private weapons companies are developing them now. If things like that were made, it would cause some pretty deep scars. But then again, we can always fry them all with EMP's. And that brings up -another- topic. EMP warfare. Once terrorists get a brain, and learn that they can use EMP to take out power grids of major economical and political centers, what are we gonna do about that? That's the scary part.

Some Thoughts About Christian Religion
(3) Too begin let me give you some history, I happen to have grown up in church, various denominations
mind you with some having very conservative and others very radical practices. In fact most of my
youth was formed around church activities and plans since I was home schooled and had very few

to avoid. Namely at first experimenting with girls, mind you church girls, then I began smoking
cigars, which made me curious about alcohol and weed which I both eventually tried. Afte....

Understanding The Brain
(2) Brain is an important organ of the body which controls the central nervous system (CNS) and
virtually controls all the human activities. The brain is divided into three parts: the forebrain,
midbrain, and hindbrain. The forebrain includes the several lobes of the cerebral cortex that
control higher functions, while the mid and hindbrain are more involved with unconscious, autonomic
functions. It is highly intricate and is responsible for the thoughts, actions, and senses (sight,
smell, taste, touch, hearing) that affect distinct sets of nerve cells and brain chemicals. ....

had found signs of broken bones on I believe the number was about 40 of the children. But I think
they are really grasping at straws, trying to make these people look bad. These are farm kids, they
feed livestock, and do other farm work, is their percentage of broken bones higher than the national
average or is it just more media hype? I think what bothers me most is that th....

My Thoughts On Why Internet Explorer Is So Popular.
(15) I see little point in the "What browser do you use?" topic except to discuss the pros and cons of
different browsers. It's obvious that most people will use Internet Explorer because almost all
computers that are bought for people or sold to them are pre-loaded with Some version of Windows, in
which the only browser is Microsoft's own, Internet Explorer. And since a big proportion of
first-time computers users are not so computer savvy and do not become so because they do not really
need to, they will use what they are given. In the internet Cafe I am typing....
Miracle Fruit - A Berry That Can Trick Your Brain

the tongue. Its natural component basically tries very hard to hold on to any and every little bit
of sweetness from acidic molecules. And the result is that your brain notices sweet taste from
something that should not be sweet. Far fetched, you say? A demonstration was held ye....

Super Brain -- Could It Be Possible?

it. We all now, at least most of us that humans are using just 5-7% of their brain, well at least

Call Of Duty 3
pre-release thoughts (11) Apparently there's a new sequel to the acclaimed Call fo Duty franchize. From what I've
read, it'll skip the PC ( /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0"

huge success on the 360, Activision wanted to continue their success. There are a few gameplay
videos and a trailer or two out on various websites. My reaction seems more dismay than applause.
For instance, I love how the new Call fo Duty sequels bring you into the war more. Like a mo....
