This program is cool, BootSkin. It allows you to change your BootSkin. Check out to see what it does: QUOTE Stardock BootSkin is a program that allows users to change their Windows 2000 and Windows XP boot screens.
Unlike other programs that can change the Windows XP boot screens, BootSkin does so in a safe manner. It doesn't patch the Windows XP kernel. Nor does it require the user to download replacement Windows XP kernels to do so.
Boot screens that use BootSkin are typically under 20K compared to other boot screen programs whose files are over 2 MEGABYTES.
And best of all, BootSkin is free for non-commercial use.
You can get BootSkin at http://www.bootskin.com/ and you can get more boot screens at http://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibID=32&u=0 . There you can find a lot of cool boot screens. Check it out.

Hey glad you started this topic i also am a user of bootskin but why stop there. The entire Stardock range of windows customisations is great and risk free as it does not edit the actual windows system 32 files but places a skin on top of them, skinning your boot screen your log on screen and logoff screen, and ofcourse your windows itself. Give it a go or make your own and then we can start a topic comparing all our windows skins and rate them. Happy Skinning

Happy Skinning I have used other Stardock products before any they just slowed my computer, I assume it was WindowBlinds but maybe I'll give LogonStudio a try.

BootSkin.com down and if you are still looking to download, you can download the file directly: http://storage.stardock.com/files/bootskin_free.exeThat is the file. Have fun.

Changing bootskin is terrible... It uses a hell lot of memory and takes longer time to load... However, it still sticks out from the rest...

The stardock setup of stuff is alright but myself i prefer Style XP (works with win 2k and win xp) and / or Aston Shell aston shell is better just for skining your windows desktop and folders and such doesn't touch bootscreen or logon screen but style xp does it all including icons, screensavers, logons, and bootscreens and is dirt cheap only 20 dollars if you are using a legal version as I know there are alot of rogue programs out there running about that make things seem legal at least. so my suggestion is go for aston shell if you just want to change the look of your desktop and things like that, style xp if you want to do it all then as backup option stardock items as some of them aren't supported anymore such as logon ui from stardock is no longer supported. So if it breaks your system your up crap creek with no paddle lol.
