[size=3] Hey man , To Boost up the Dial up speed, Do the following......... For: WinME Win95 and Win98 -----To do this click on your start button, then go to Search then open up Dial Up Networking, then right click on your connection,Go to Properties then where the modem is located(Tellin you wut modem you are using)Hit Configure, Next click on Connection, and locate the Advaced button click on it and see where it says Extra Settings Type This: at&fx Then hit apply, then close it out, and disconect from your internet, and then start it back up...your connection speedwill be 5 times more...It made mine boost up from 45,200BPS to 115,200BPS----- For: WinXP WinCE and Win2000 -----Right click on "My Computer" then go to "Properties" then go to "Hardware" then go to "Device Manager" then go to "Modems" Then select that tab so it scrolls down, then go to your modem, and right click and go to "Properties" then go to "Advanced" Then in the box saying "Extra Settings/Extra Initialization Commands" type in that box: at&fx --then click ok then ok again and exit out of everything, disconect from tha internet and reconnect and you will be connected at a faster speed. you wouold be connected at 42,200KBPS and now your new connection will be 100,200KBPS— Another trick: ncrease the speed your modem connects. 1. Click start. 2. Click control panel. 3. Click modems. 4. Click properties. 5. Click the connection tab. 6. Click advanced. 7. In the extra settings dialog box add the string S11=40. 8. Click Ok. I hope u will satisfy with me.

Try That : (Windows Xp ) 1-Open Start 2-Open Control Panel 3-Choose Phone and Modem Options 4-Go to Modems Tab 5-Choose your modem then press properties button or press right muse button then choose properties 6-Choose Advanced Tab 7-In The Extra Initialization commands Type : AT&FX 8- Restart your computer then connect to the internet. Note : This command should increase your internet speed from 56 KB to 116 KB. but it will only affect on your browsing speed not the downloading that means that you will browse with 116 KB Speed but you will download in the normal speed For the DSL Users they can try this program that should increase their speed: ( DSL Speed ) Download from this site http://www.dsl-speed.orgI am Sure that this way will not harm your computer but i am not sure it will really work and speed up your browsing.

My advice is to not use a download accelerator they do not work and many of them contain things like ad ware, spy ware, and other stuff like that. The only true download accelerators work by caching information on their servers and their servers have to be faster than the site in the first place for it to speed up anything and I would not even go with that because I have heard the server gave someone a cached page for a forum and they were logged on to someone else's account. Just stay away from download managers you never know what your installing on your system.

I have to agree with you, but only partly - not all of them are bad. Thats the same as saying that someone has had a virus attack via the internet so we shouldnt use the internet. Or someone had a car crash so we shouldn't drive cars. Exactly the same. Also, you oversually don't know the main reasons of a downlaod manager. Most can easily pause, resume, etc, Very useful for me. I got dialup, most downlaods I can just stop and resume, the large files i just run over night, and stop in the morning, so i can still surf the internet (800mb for dialup takes 44 hours at 5kb/s. ) Most of them split the dowanload into several parts, and the good ones (flashget...) search for other mirros, and downlaods the same file from different places. This puts minimal drain on the server and maximum download on the user.

I have 2 computers with which I leave in the Internet and one modem for them. (the second is connected through a network). On 1 (main) computer stands windows xp and on the 2 - windows 2000 (and IE 5 ). When I connected to the Internet from the second, I have found out higher speed of loading of pages, I am very much surprised in this occasion. I think, that IE 6 too load the channel, it is probable if to choose good browser, is possible to increase essentially speed

Dialup accelerators work in some sense but the way they work you might be dissapointed. For instance they consume alot of pc useage which can slow down your browser. The image compression reduces the quality greatly also if your downloading stuff like programs and music it will not be accelerated at all. Bottom line if your looking to surf faster and you have atleast a pentium 4 processor and 256 megs of ram and dont care about image quality use an accelerator otherwise an upgrade to broadband would be the only way. Dialup teak programs will only work if your dialup settings are set incorrectly for most people downloading these would be a complete waste of time If you want a noticeable diffrence in your connection speed ditch the dialup its the only way you are going to be happy

How To Hide Your Folders
increase the privacy of your personal folders (6) here is something that can be extremely useful if you are using a shred computer QUOTE To hide
folders you can simply disguise the folders as virtual folders. Some examples of virtual folders
are the Fonts folder, the Recycle Bin, the Control Panel. When you try to open disguised folders,
you see the contents of a Recycle Bin or Fonts instead of the real documents stored in the folders.
here's what you'll have to do: Right-click a folder and select Rename. Add the following
