| | I was skimming the forums and came across a thread about torrent. After reading through several posts and even a couple of different threads I am still no more enlightened about what Torrent is. It is evidently something about downloading files and there are several different programs for doing so. If someone wants a good crack at post credits you could post a definition and discussion about torrent for us noobs who dont know what it is. |

I've tried most of those, and I'd say Azureus is the best. The original Bittorrent client has the nasty feature of one torrent at a time...It's very annoying to wait for one to finish, especially if the download speed isn't all too fantastic. Bittornado is nice for downloading torrents with certain protection (got advent children when it first came out!), but for the most part is has a hard time finding peers. I had the same problem with BitComet as well...I hardly got anything downloaded because they could never find any peers. I got Azureus a while back and still use it to this day because it pretty much suits all my needs. It allows for multiple torrent downloads, has never had a problem opening a torrent, and always manages to find peers (if they exist, that is). Also, why is BitComet on there twice? Do you think it's just that good?  And you might want to put µTorrent up there, as it's one of the most (if not the most) popular bittorrent client out there. Azureus has been working great for me so I haven't had a need to try it for myself.

I use Bitlord a minimal version of bitcomet.. and it rocks providing me with minimal upload rates and maximum download rates. Considering my bandwith, i couldnt have been happier.

uTorrent is my client of choice. It loads quickly, occupies a mere 1 MB of space, and gets the job done with about the same amount of features you get out of Azeurus, but without the bloat. The downside is it's for Windows only.

I voted for Shareaza .. I use it from 2004 and according to it's P2P then Bittorent and simplicity of his search option .. it's nice!!!

I use a program called Utorrent.. i havent really tried any of the others cause this does everything i need. Always finds what im looking for and has good download speed. Please let me know if other ones are like 100 times better than utorrent so i can maybe try them..

ive started using winamp 5 it has started taking way too much cpu for my liking. In winamp 2 when
Dee2 was being used i would max out cpu at 10%. However, now with winamp 5, its around 30% go figure

know that all IM programs have built in file-sharing capability but that is not quite enough for me.

Azureus (bit Torrent Client) Problem
(5) Hi everybody! I'm having some difficulties with my bit torrent client - Azureus. When I
download files (I usually download files larger than 400MB), the download stops at a random
percentage (but usually at the second half of the file)! 1st issue: I was downloading a 700MB
file, and by the time it got to 99.3%, the download speed hit zero. I was stuck in a "swarm" of
other bit torrent clients that have also downloaded 99.3% of the file, and nothing is
happening!!! I left it alone for about 4-5 hours, came back, and still 99.3%! I was
so mad,....
