| | I use Bitcomet, the only reason being it was the 1st thing that i saw in download.com when i was looking for torrent clients. But i like limewire(P2P) better because there you dont have to commit to uploads, which is helpful if you have limited bandwidth. |

Well, I highly recommend the BitComet client, I use it for downloading the Linux SUSE DVD and it works amazingly better than the Official (bit torrent) client, also you are able to chat with the people who seeds or leechs the .torrent file, allows easy swapping between tasks, and it is very secure, try it at BitComet HomepageGood luck and have fun with BitComet!

Sometimes when a program freezes alot its because the computer is overheating. Not always though. I have nto tried the other clients yet. I go with bit torrent because I know it has been around forever. At least when I am using the windows desktop. I have another client that came with my linux system when I installed it. I don't remember what its called. Torrents don't seem to be quite as popular as they once were but they are more convienent when you have really alot of information to transfer. This is especially true for cd images.

lol.. you have bitcomet on there twice.. I use bitcomet because it doesn't lag your computer as much like those other clients that eat up all your computer resources. And it doesn't have to do a hash check everytime you reopen the program like client abc

In addition to checking out bittornado, you should also check out µTorrent. This is, I think one of the nicer and easier to use bittorrent clients. P.S. There is no installer, the program that you download is the program its self. Great for people who keep their life among other things on those little USB flash drives. Also very lightweight when it comes to processing power. Ran it on a Sony Vaio, Windows 98, 64MB ram 200Mhz proc, while typing a paper. Not even a hicup. Also insludes a built in search bar that will allow you to search your favorite torrent engine (Some set up required... its realy easy)

i lke bitcomet torrent and shareaza...they all seem to have the same reliability to me at least...but it seems to be easier for me to look for files on shareaza because they show up all in one window...i heard that there some kind of rating by stayin online that you get in bitcomet or bittorrent...i forgot...and you have to keep your rating up for some reason i forgot....not sure what program does that but its good so that people who do stay on will help others upload their files to other computers

I use uTorrent. It's fast, efficient, and effective. I prefer it over the popular Azureus client. It's not Java-dependent. It's small in size, and it gets the job done. And the speeds are out of this world!

i use uTorrent. i find its interface very user-friendly. my classmate adviced me to use it and i think i'm contented with it. i have tried bittornado before but back then i had no idea what torrents were so i just threw the client away and just downloaded files using bearshare. after a few months, my computer got so many virus because of the spyware that came with downloading via bearshare. i've fixed the pc and now i'm using torrents to download files. what kind of files? mostly songs. i've never tried downloading videos because i only have dial-up connection and i would be waiting light years before i can watch that video.

ive started using winamp 5 it has started taking way too much cpu for my liking. In winamp 2 when
Dee2 was being used i would max out cpu at 10%. However, now with winamp 5, its around 30% go figure

know that all IM programs have built in file-sharing capability but that is not quite enough for me.
All I need is a little tool which would allow resumes and possibly secure (encrypted) transfers.

Azureus (bit Torrent Client) Problem
(5) Hi everybody! I'm having some difficulties with my bit torrent client - Azureus. When I
download files (I usually download files larger than 400MB), the download stops at a random
percentage (but usually at the second half of the file)! 1st issue: I was downloading a 700MB
file, and by the time it got to 99.3%, the download speed hit zero. I was stuck in a "swarm" of
other bit torrent clients that have also downloaded 99.3% of the file, and nothing is
happening!!! I left it alone for about 4-5 hours, came back, and still 99.3%! I was
so mad,....
