since i discovered the torrents my life was beatiful ... i started using the bittornado ... the problem that i found to it it that i have to open a new instance of the program if want to have another torrent downloading ... problem ... 1 download - 1 instance running ... messy right ??? ... they i used a java-based client called Azureus ... it was great and have a lot of cool new features but i dont know how that program distribute the bandwith that my download band was to used in its 100% and all the upload rate is not 100% cofigurable ... for example ... if you put a download rate in the cofiguration it automatically calculates the upload rate for you even if you dont have it ... for example i have ADSL ... the A is of asymmetric .. does if sounds familiar ... right ... i donwload to 512 kbps and my upload rate is 128 kbps ... so if i want to download to 512 kbps that program put my upload rate automatically to 256 kbps of 320 kbps i dont remember ... but if i have an upload of 128 then all my internet service get messy ... i can work with internet explorer because the uploas bandwith was always satured ... etc etc ... finally and the best ... BitComet .. great program ... and have an upload rate configurable ... so that you can mange you bandwith as you want ... i recomend this a lot ... try it ... ill not describe it as the other so that you can try it ... remember ** * BitComet * **
Azureus is a easy-to-use Java BitTorrent client, with support for 27 languages. Azureus connects to the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol designed to transfer files. Users connect directly to send and receive portions of a file, while a central tracker coordinates the action of all peers and manages connections without knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed. With BitTorrent, users upload at the same time they download, so network bandwidth is managed as efficiently as possible. BitTorrent is designed to work better than other file-transfer protocols as the number of people interested in a certain file increases.
the first clients I used were Shareaza (because I used it for Gnutella and Gnutella2) and the original one (the first time I used a BT client), but I didn't like it - my computer used to crash when I used it;
I am using now Azureus because it got a nice interface and allow you to choose which files you want to download or not - which I use very oftenly
I use BitComet.. It's the only bittorrent i've tried apart from the original one.. I love the fact that you can choose what files you want to dl from selected torrent.. most likely other "clients" have that too but i'm generally really satisfied with this and i've used this for quite a long time.. Works just fine for me.. maybe a bit slowly sometimes but that's probably 'cos of my bad connection and not the torrent client
As the votes are clearly showing, Azuerues is deffinatly the best client. For starters it is written in java...which means it is complatible with most operating systems. Add the giant database of mods (to do basicly neigh anything you could possibly want); the extensive interface (allowing you to tweak practically everything); and the wonderful functionality and...well...it's pretty much perfect.
Oh, who voted for the origonal bittorrent client? Hah. The guy made a wonderful protocol, but his client was ssssooooo bad.
I use azureus. I've tried bitcomet and bittornado before and of the clients I have used I think azureus is the better. It has alot of features, a clean user interface and it's a powerful tool. The program also has a ton of plugins so that you could add more feature that you want.

What do you think is the best messaging client? Right now, I must say Trillian, because it allows
multiple acount log ins at the same time. But it's only for windows, and I'm not sure if
there's a linux version...and I am about to switch to linux. So once I switch to linux, i'd
probably go for Gaim. Although it does not allow multiple accounts, it does allow IRC chatting. and
furthermore, it is open source ! there's a lot of room for improvement...but im not sure how
much active its community is. And although both Gaim and Trillian can be invi....
I'm looking for e-mail software that enables sending mail to multiple recipients, but totally
blind (i.e. so none of the recipients can see anyone else's address) I know there are quite a
few free-ware ones (e.g. listed at fivestar) - but I can't tell if they have this facility
without downloading them all! Anyone have any useful tips please? Thanks, KK.....
Hey everyone. I have been using Dee2 since the days when winamp 2 were in style. However, ever since
ive started using winamp 5 it has started taking way too much cpu for my liking. In winamp 2 when
Dee2 was being used i would max out cpu at 10%. However, now with winamp 5, its around 30% go figure
that this isnt acceptable. Let me know what DSP plugins you use for winamp and how much cpu usage
winamp is taking for you. Thanks all.....
Hey all, I'm looking for a small but simple tool, to exchange files with friends and family. I
know that all IM programs have built in file-sharing capability but that is not quite enough for me.
All I need is a little tool which would allow resumes and possibly secure (encrypted) transfers.
What I'm looking for is kind of like FTP but server and client in one program and very simple to
set up. For those of you who know what WASTE is, it comes pretty close but it would be good if it
also would allow unsecured transfer just for ease of use. I'd love to us....
I found this article the other day, which states that many ISP's are starting to adopt traffic
shaping to limit their users from downloading and uploading anything from BT (or making it extremely
slow to do so). In the article they point to Rogers, one of Canada's largest ISP's, which
have lied about using it in the past. Shaw, and many providers in the UK have this traffic shaping
feature as well, which ultimately makes anything very difficult to share.

Trillian an IM client that merges your existing Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, and IRC. I like it because it
frees up some space, other than having all 5 programs if you even use all five you have one and it
also uses less resources this way. You can use audio and video with it and it even can support a LAN
messenger for just the computers in your network. Nifty huh. Well you can CLICK HERE to find out
more and download it.....
Hi everybody! I'm having some difficulties with my bit torrent client - Azureus. When I
download files (I usually download files larger than 400MB), the download stops at a random
percentage (but usually at the second half of the file)! 1st issue: I was downloading a 700MB
file, and by the time it got to 99.3%, the download speed hit zero. I was stuck in a "swarm" of
other bit torrent clients that have also downloaded 99.3% of the file, and nothing is
happening!!! I left it alone for about 4-5 hours, came back, and still 99.3%! I was
so mad,....
Check out what I came across today: http://www.utorrent.com/ It's called µTorrent, and like
the name, the download is ridiculously small: 82KB. BitTorrent is a file sharing network that's
designed to off-load bandwidth if you're sharing large files like Linux ISOs. What it does is it
allows peers to share a bit of the file, so that each person is holding a small piece. Then, it
grabs all the pieces from the peers online and downloads them all to your computer. I may not have
gotten this process correctly, so correct me if I'm wrong.....
If you had to only take 3 pieces of software, what would they be and why? I will start by saying
First, I will go with opera because i love its speed and compliance with w3 standards. Second,
trillian because i can use all the chats in one although miranda is looking better each day but not
there yet for me. Finally, bitfender because its such a small yet extensive program that also works
for linux Your turn now ....
Your Favorite FREEWARE Programs? I'm a huge user of freeware programs. I hate paying for
things, and if i can get it for free, i'm gonna use it /smile.gif' border='0'
style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> Here's a list of my current favorites. GAIM
consolidate all your msn/aol/icq/yahoo instant messaging into one client. better than miranda and
the other freeware ones i've tried. 7-Zip support for most major compression schemes, and adds
one of its own, .7z. 7zip makes smaller .zip files compared to pkware, and if you use .7z format, it....
http://aimfire.mozdev.org/ QUOTE Introducing AIMfire, an instant messaging program for the
fantastic Mozilla Firefox. AIMfire is like your usual instant messaging programs but it is small in
size, easy to use and in particular features something that other instant messaging clients
don't have: the power of Audioscrobbler built-in. So try it out and give it a spin! If
you're running a portable version of Firefox on a thumbdrive this is a great extension to have.
You'll never need to worry about your host computer having an AIM chat client. Bett....

Heyhey ya'll I found a really funny e-mail client some time ago called IncrediMail , wich is
somewhat based on little flash movies and has really funny notifiers like this one /tongue.gif'
border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> I use it when I'm connected to
internet and really is funny. For those who are curious check out IncrediMail but errmmm some
features (marked as "Gold") require $$$. Peace /cool.gif' border='0'
style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cool.gif' /> ....
There are many threads for favourite email in this forum. So I don't want to start one more. I
am talking about Email Clients for accessing our Email. My favourite is Incredimail which is free to
use. Outlook Express is also good. I want to know which one is liked by others???....
I was wondering if anyone was using that insted of Outlook, I just downloaded and I like it a lot
better, but it has certain things that aren't good at all. Welll just wanted to know if anyone
else was using this program, and if you are, how do you set it up, so when you open it, you use a
password, I have to enter a password when I conecct to the server, but when I open it, no need for
password, so anyone that seats on the computer and opens Thunderbird can see all my old e-mail, not
new ones, for that it requires conecction to the main server and you need the passw....
Hi everyone I was wondering which IM have you used or are you using now? I have MSN, Yahoo
Messenger, and AIM installed on my computer right now. But I use MSN most of the time since
it's where most of my contacts are. /biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle'
alt='biggrin.gif' /> I tried Trillian as well but I abandoned it since it doesn't have audio
or video capabilities. I've also heard of open source IMs but I haven't really tried them.
Any ideas or experiences?....
