QUOTE(snlildude87 @ Mar 10 2005, 02:29 AM) I use BitTornado because it's very reliable for me, although at times, the GUI seems to freeze, and I get very mad when that happens because I leave the computer on for a long time, so when I get back, I expect a finished download. I've also tried BitComet. I don't know if this is me, but the torrent seems to take SO much longer to finish downloading than it does on BitTornado. If you've experienced this, post below. Shareaza is another client that I've tried, but it doesn't seem to handel torrents very well. BitTornado ROCKS!!! it lets u choose the upload speed so that u can download what u want first and then seed!!!Unlike other Clients where its automatic. Also this client picks up more peers/seeds as it has this magnet that is soo strong that it works and works

When I started using BitTorrent I started out with the standard client. I'm not sure which version it was back then, but I remember that I didn't like the standard client very much. So I tried several different client with various amounts of success. I stumbled across BT++, which worked nicely for a while, but then suddenly it stopped working, loading the torrent but not downloading anything. So then my search for a new client began again, the first one I tried was ABC, which worked nicely and I've stuck to it ever since.

I think that azerus is a great java based bittorrent client because it has a great gui, and everything is monitored, even the diffrent programs the peers that your downloading from are tracked so i can see which is the most popular. And disregarding this poll i see more edonkey clients than any other. Which is surprising because i didn't think that eDonkey use bitorrent. But i think that exeem is also an excellent client

Hmmm, no option to vote for azureus? After trying many other clients this one is my favorite by far. It loads fast, has lots of plugins, and is very configurable. Another client i have installed is bitornade since its very small and simple to use, but when I have many torrents at the same time, I always use azureus.

Woo hoo! So far, no one has gotten confused by the double BitComet's! Casanova, I'm the exactly opposite as you - I like simple programs that get the jobs done, and you like complicated programs that get the job done. But so far, my BitTorrent client, BitTornado, is beating your Azureus

what has happened to exeem, is it just another "bittorent"-like client? supr nova released it, so is it another torrent sharing program?

Best Messaging Client
(18) What do you think is the best messaging client? Right now, I must say Trillian, because it allows
multiple acount log ins at the same time. But it's only for windows, and I'm not sure if
there's a linux version...and I am about to switch to linux. So once I switch to linux, i'd
probably go for Gaim. Although it does not allow multiple accounts, it does allow IRC chatting. and
furthermore, it is open source ! there's a lot of room for improvement...but im not sure how
much active its community is. And although both Gaim and Trillian can be invi....

Filesharing
Searching for a private filesharing client (5) Hey all, I'm looking for a small but simple tool, to exchange files with friends and family. I
know that all IM programs have built in file-sharing capability but that is not quite enough for me.
All I need is a little tool which would allow resumes and possibly secure (encrypted) transfers.
What I'm looking for is kind of like FTP but server and client in one program and very simple to
set up. For those of you who know what WASTE is, it comes pretty close but it would be good if it
also would allow unsecured transfer just for ease of use. I'd love to us....
Encrypting Bittorrent To Take Out Traffic Shapers
(0) I found this article the other day, which states that many ISP's are starting to adopt traffic
shaping to limit their users from downloading and uploading anything from BT (or making it extremely
slow to do so). In the article they point to Rogers, one of Canada's largest ISP's, which
have lied about using it in the past. Shaw, and many providers in the UK have this traffic shaping
feature as well, which ultimately makes anything very difficult to share.

Trillian 3.1 Basic Or Pro
Overview of Trillian IM client (11) Trillian an IM client that merges your existing Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, and IRC. I like it because it
frees up some space, other than having all 5 programs if you even use all five you have one and it
also uses less resources this way. You can use audio and video with it and it even can support a LAN
messenger for just the computers in your network. Nifty huh. Well you can CLICK HERE to find out

Azureus (bit Torrent Client) Problem
(5) Hi everybody! I'm having some difficulties with my bit torrent client - Azureus. When I
download files (I usually download files larger than 400MB), the download stops at a random
percentage (but usually at the second half of the file)! 1st issue: I was downloading a 700MB
file, and by the time it got to 99.3%, the download speed hit zero. I was stuck in a "swarm" of
other bit torrent clients that have also downloaded 99.3% of the file, and nothing is
happening!!! I left it alone for about 4-5 hours, came back, and still 99.3%! I was
so mad,....
Free Lightweight Bittorrent Software (82kb)
microtorrent (µtorrent) (1) Check out what I came across today: http://www.utorrent.com/ It's called µTorrent, and like
the name, the download is ridiculously small: 82KB. BitTorrent is a file sharing network that's
designed to off-load bandwidth if you're sharing large files like Linux ISOs. What it does is it
allows peers to share a bit of the file, so that each person is holding a small piece. Then, it
grabs all the pieces from the peers online and downloads them all to your computer. I may not have
gotten this process correctly, so correct me if I'm wrong.....
What Is Your Favorite Software?
(39) If you had to only take 3 pieces of software, what would they be and why? I will start by saying
First, I will go with opera because i love its speed and compliance with w3 standards. Second,
trillian because i can use all the chats in one although miranda is looking better each day but not
there yet for me. Finally, bitfender because its such a small yet extensive program that also works
for linux Your turn now ....

it's where most of my contacts are. /biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle'
