Is it the speed of your wireless is slow, or you need longer range on your wireless? Wireless connections are not recommended for online gaming anyway, as they are slower than using an ethernet cable, not to mention the dropouts you sometimes get. Some brands have got some more expensive "ranged" cards and routers/AP's that use the same bandwidth but can go further. Perhaps you should look into some of those.

I always use wired connections for gaming. They are faster because they dont have to be encryted / decrypted. Another advantage of the wired connection is that the speed is more constant (10M or 100M or 1000M). In most of the cases even 10M wired is faster then a 54M wireless. When you are using ADSL the speed of internet is most of the cases 4M Download / 512 k Upload. So 10M is more then enough unless your are having a (small) LAN party So if you can go wired. Otherwise try turn of the encryption and your connection will be faster but less secure. These day the wireless connections go to 108 Mbit/s and even faster, but for gaming is the speed no that important only the delay (visible with the ping). For tests on delay you can always use a ping from a DOS window.

Home Network Not Working
Networking multiple PCs (wired and wireless) (10) Hi everyone, I bought a wireless router for internet acces for my laptop. I also have a desktop.
Both connect fine to the router and get good speeds on the internet. The thing is that I want to
set up a home network so that I can have file and printer sharing between my machines. I have the
run wizard on both machines several times (and created the install disks etc), but when I try to
"see" the other machine, it cannot connect. Can somebody please give me some tips/pointers? My

RAM ATI IGP 320M ..... He bought a D-link 650G pcmcia wifi card, and when his laptop is working
with the battery and lost signal, the system crash (not respond ever again), This happend only when
the pcmcia lost signal because it is out of the router range. My other brother has the same card

What Is Your Prefered Wireless Router?
(6) My Linksys BEFW11S4 had recently lost sensitivity to wireless connections and often had drop
packets. Pinging the router replies with "Request timed out". I'm thinking of getting a new
wireless router. I've not used other brands before but thought of changing brands as I'm
afraid another Linksys product might cause the same problem. However, as Linksys is part of Cisco, I

Accessing "encrypted" Wireless At Work

Wireless Problem?
(3) Hi all, I am relatively new to the wireless world, but not to the networking world. We have some
major issues at work inregards to our wireless. We are going from XP to 98. Now the internet is on
the XP system, but I cannot access it off the 98. I do know that the wireless is working because I
can access all the shared folders on both units. Today I looked at the utility folder for the
wireless and we are only operating at 48% for a signal. Would this have something to do with not
