| | I have been developing a 'Web Hosting Value Calculator' for one of my websites. To make a long and painfully analytic story short:
I have perfected a 'Value Calculation' that factors in among a few other things - the big three:
number of emails provided per dollar spent;
bandwidth provided per dollars spent;
and disk space provided per dollars spent.
I chose to focus on these three metrics primarily - as my experience leads me to believe that these are the measures that most prospective customers look at to determine value.
The abbreviated results from a few bigger name companies are in the file attachment. My 'Best Web Hosting Value' winner? Globat's 'Gigabyte Package'.
What does everyone think of my results? Any packages that offer more value? |

I look for bandwidth, space, PHP, and MySQL first, but all of those are meaningless if the hosting provider has terrible uptime and/or support. I sort of like Free-Webhosts rating system... *looks at Globat* Wow, that's rather good... But it doesn't offer subdomains unless you pay, multiple domains/sites (again unless you pay), or reselling, which are the only ways other than a download or *very* media-heavy site I could possibly need that much.

New To Cgi - How To Use It On Trap17 Hosting!
Need help with running CGI on trap17 free web hosting (0) Hi. Im new to perl and CGI could someone tell me how to run CGI on trap17 free hosting. I have
created a programme which look like CODE print "<p>Hi</p>"; i tried
saving it in notepad as "test.cgi" but it saved as a text document, named "test.cgi" I tried putting
it in the "cgi-bin" area, on the free web hosting ftp. but when i ran it, it said it couldnt find

Slightly Concerned About Web Hosting Applications
email addresses shouldnt be shown (7) Ive been thinking about this for a while, every since i did a search for my email address in google
(you should really try it, youd be surprised where your address turns up sometimes) I was lucky and
the only reference to it was here at T17 in my hosting app. But this concerned me... Many of the
folk here at trap are very intelligent and cautious people and dont like their email address being
splattered across the internet but that is what is happening because of the application threads. I
would like to ask if they can be made mod/admin only or if Jlhsalips email hidi....
