I don't know what the best is, I use Windows Media Player though I might download SongBird someday. I just use it for music, so WMP serves its purpose. It did apparently come preset to synchronize its files to whatever MP3 player I connected to the computer, which took all my Napster stuff off and I had to put it back on, that was annoying.

I always use Windows Media Player. It comes installed with Windows, no stupid ads and it's fairly lightweight. I've only briefly used WinAmp as I found it difficult to get around, and I couldn't find many options for it. I really hate iTunes. It's slow to load, takes up loads of memory and is difficult to use. Also, it makes the iTunes process start up on computer boot, which is annoying. Real Player was good in the 90's, until they turned evil. Now it is similar to iTunes. It's incredibly slow, has tons of ads and automatically starts up when you don't want it to. I haven't tried any of the others, although I really liked Windows Media Classic. It's extremely lightweight, needs no install, and the only drawback is that you can't store albums, etc, which is understandable seeing as it's so lightweight. Cheers, Rob

I would have to say Winamp Modern. I love Winamps many features and I'm probably biased because thats what I use to run my Icecast station. It's very user friendly, you can actually see the toolbar unlike the new windows media player. I dont like real player and I dont use it unless I must. I tunes is ok but since they added video support to their ipods the player has gotten much more confusing. ~SPRadio P.S. If you need help setting up a streaming radio server on your computer let me know and I'll help you out.

Windows Media Player 11 Visualization
- oddly poor performance (13)
My windows media player 11 has seemed to have developed a problem. Well actulally it has always been
doing this. I am running a P4 (2.8GHz with 512 ram, 64MB vram), and when I try to activate the
visualization in WMP 11 all it is horribly slow and pixelized. I would guess about 5 fps Normally I
would just accept this and keep saving for a new computer but the second that there is something
covering even part of the visualization screen, it ups it's performance. If you put a separate
window over the vis screen (even the slightest corner of a window) the performance up...

Window Media Player Or Winamp?
- Which one you like? (34)
Window Media Player or Winamp? Which one do you like? Reason. I like Both though I use Window Media
Player to play movie instead of using it to listen to music. Window Media Player I use it when that
I watch anime then having a codec attach to it. It is easier to watch it through Window Media
Player. Winamp, I used it to play songs. It is easy to use and simple. You can have a movie on
Winamp too but it is a bit hard (for me) to use through Winamp and play the movie. When you play
songs you have adjust a sound too, or tune it....

Macromedia Flash Player 8

Four days ago I formatted my computer and have been installing all of my applications. I went to the
Macromedia site and installed flash player, and the movie is shown saying that it has installed
succesfully. However, if I go to a website that hosts flash player 8 content, It usually does not
display correctly and it tells me to go download the new player. No matter how many times I
re-install the player through the Macromedia website it does not "take". Any Ideas? Is there
anywhere I can get Flash Player 8 from as a .exe I can run and install? Thanks in advance....

Wmp 11 Review
- review for Windows Media Player 11 (2)
Windows Media Player 11 for XP Review Ok, my first impression while downloading is… DAMN
this is a huge file. 22.9 Mb to be exact. So it took me about 2 and a half hours to download. Now,
the installation took a while, but it went smoothly, and gave me 2 options to use WMP 11: Express,
and Custom. Naturally, I like things done Fast, SO, I choose the Express use. The GUI is really
nice. The glossy look portrays a look of vista, while the 3-D graphics blow the old WMP out of the
water. Remember how WMP 9 and 10 had the “File – Edit – etc…” menu that appeared wh...

Windows Media Player 11
- (18)
From What I heard about WMP11, Microsoft's original plans for Windows Media Player (WMP)
11--formerly code-named Aurora--were fairly low-key, with just a few minor new features. That's
all changed: Microsoft has canceled Aurora, and the company is moving the Longhorn media player to
XP. Now code-named Polaris, WMP 11 will be a major release. There's just one problem: Instead of
shipping in November, as per the original plan, WMP 11 will now ship in a public beta during that
month, coinciding with Longhorn Beta 2. The final release is roughly scheduled for ear...

Windows Media Player Can't Be Removed From Win Xp

My family recently got a Dell. /laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle'

because now the program won't go away. It loads up every time I log onto to the computer and it
takes forever. I tried removing it but then after a boot the software would reload it. As far as I
know I don't have any virus. Anyone know of any way to get rid of it?...
