Bad Ram Can Cause Computer Failure To Start? - regarding Random Access Memory

Friends recently i had my computer thrilled with failure to start. I contacted the system dealer , he said that the RAM had the problem and replaces it , my old RAM is a 1 GB RAM.
I saw the RAM in that we have the copper teeths like structure in the bottom which fits in the motherboard there one copper stripp has come out .
We would need to see a picture of the set up as the description doesn't help in diagnosing the problem; however, bad RAM will cause the pc not to boot up since RAM is needed to speed up the boot process. if your RAM has gone bad you will hear a series of beeps in POST, but usually depending on the beeps it could be something else.
After rereading I think I know what part of the RAM stick your talking about, but that would seem impossible unless you bent the RAM at all. Like I said post some pictures of this so we can get a better idea what it could be, and if the deal did say the RAM has to be release then all you have to is just replace it and nothing more.
Yeah, by the description given, the only solution is getting a new RAM stick. You don't necessarily have to get another 1GB stick of RAM, just make sure your motherboard supports the RAM stick you may plan on getting. Not all RAM sticks will work on your motherboard, so figure out which speed this RAM stick you're mentioning is (e.g. DDR 667, DDR 800, etc) and purchase that. The RAM stick should say on its side what kind it is.
I have seen 1 out of the 2 sticks of memory be bad and a computer not boot. You see fan's, hear drives, ect, but no image is returned on your monitor. Kind of a weird thing, but after replacing the 1 bad stick with a matching piece of memory, system booted up no problem.
yup, it can happen test it against another stick of ram (be very careful how you hold it)
1. Take the bad one out, 2. Put the good one in 3. if it works theres a problem with the bad ram 4. If it doesn't, start checking your bios for problems (maybe update it this can be dangerous so PLEASE do not hold me responsible when i tell people that i ask them if they want me to do it and 9 time out of 10 they will say yes)
Its REALLY fustrating as plug says you will hear drives working see fans working but the damn thing wont work The best place for ram is MicroDirect (The hyperlink will take you straight to the ram section if you need laptop memory click Here) Hope this helps and works, be sure to tell us the results karlosantana NOT a newbie anymore!
As I knew for the old RAM ( PC-100 / PC-133 etc. ) it is not all the copper teeth used all together. Althrough one or two was not present on the ram board but it still work without issues. But I haven't know the newest ram.
You may have a try to download the memory test utility to check to see if your ram was really damaged.

last time i had a problem like yours the problem was the graphic card. dead ram will cause no boot at all. graphic card problem will cause no image and a noisy beeps. but you can try your ram on friends computers to see if it boots. if it doesn't probably it's ram fault. if it boots, maybe it's your motherboard ram slot fault. you can't say that's something fault before trying on different computers. good luck.

Hi, A friend of me call me telling me that his computer is *BLEEP*ed up. His computer turns off
before anything comes into the screens. Three beeps sound before it turns off. He asked me for
advice but i did not know what to tell him. I guess could be the Bios but i do not have a big
background experience with this computer problems. He told me he was cracking a program or something
like that. So, maybe a virus *BLEEP*ed him. If anyone know what is the problem and what it is the
solution would be really nice. thanks in advanced!...

Well I got two weeks left in the semester and on August 18th I will have built my first computer
from scratch, now hopefully during the rest of the year I will have build up a series of topics on
computer hardware and tutorials on building a computer from scratch that most of you will never have
to buy a pre built system again /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0"

Got a question, Again. I want to be able to have to monitors, Two keyboards, And two mouses. So
that they can be all hooked up to one computer but I can have several users doing different things.
But so that I can connect to the internet on the computer and all the users be able to share it at
the same time. I have Dial-up. So the question is, If I get another monitor card so I can hook up
two monitors will that work? Then there is this thing that you plug it into your computer, and it
comes with software and it has several monitor, keyboard, and mouse ports on this ...
Well for a while now I have been running on some odd number of MBs for my memory, I think it is
1.3GBs. I have for DIMM slots so I think the set up is(512,256,256,256) or something like that I
suppose and they are different speeds(MHz) but that isn't what my question is about. I was
looking to upgrade my RAM to just two sticks 1GB each. So I found a nice pair I like but I noticed
it was DDRII 200pin 880MHz. Now when I looked up the specs on my MB I saw that it supports DDR
128pin 400MHz (Dual Channel). What leads me to my actual question is could the specs on the si...

I have a problem with my computer. How come it's restarting on its own? When the electricity
fluctuates, the computer restarts. I cannot control that though and that is tolerable given the
quality of electric lines here in my country. But sometimes there are no electric fluctations and
it is just restarting on its own. Is this spyware, trojan or virus? I scan my system regularly
using Adaware and AntiVir. I am not that good in troubleshooting computers, so can anyone help me?

I have looked at the new microsoft computer called microsoft surface, it looks amazing but slightly
too expensive for me at the moment at £17000 onwards. Also I have heard from my mate that there is
a new apple computer which is coming out shortly. It has 2*quad core x2.4Ghz processors and 40 gb
of ram. I think thats crazy but £17000 may be worth it....

Okay, this is the second time building a computer on my own. The motherboard had a 24-pin socket but
I didn't notice that the power supply had a 20-pin connector with an extra 4-pin to go with the
20-pin one. So what I did without knowing the proper connection, I connected the 20-pin to the
240pin socket on the motherboard and the extra 4-pin to the 4-pin socket across from the
motherboard. The correct 4-pin was left hanging and wasn't used. So after all these things were
done and I connected the power cable to the PSU and switched it on, I heard some popping so...
Hello Trap17 Friends, I am posting this because I need help to get a computer screw unscrewed, the
problem is that I sort of forced it a while back and it is sort of deformed. I am able to get all
the other screws out except this particular screw. I need to get it out so that I can check the
thermal paste on my processor and to clean the heatsink. I might even swap out the processor soon,
so before I buy a new processor for it, I need to be able to get that screw unscrewed. Does anyone
here have any tricks or ideas? Thanks.. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle"...

Well my hardware is class is almost over and after reading are weekly chapter the first discussion I

computer cases and motherboards you can use when building a fully customized computer instead of
getting one pre-built; such as Dell, Apple, Sony, and Alienware. There are 6 form factors (in...
