I love old video game consoles. I have emulators for NES SNES and Sega and just about every rom for all of them on my computer now. I want to build a computer inside of a NES box. I've seen people use the Micro-ATX boards to build Full Computers inside of power supply cases, so i know that the technology is available. But I would also like to make it work like a nintendo with the original controllers and everything. Is there someway to connect the old serial ports to a motherboard, or is this just impossible. Let me know what you think
A truly "retro" computer would take up the space of an average house and weigh a few tons... The first "main-frame" I wrote any programs on took the space of a basketball court and had a bazillion feet of "tape" to spool every day. And it was a small one (at the time) An IBM 360. Go do some research on them. It would likely struggle to keep up with your wrist-watch for speed and accuracy. And to think that they sent a man to the Moon using that technology... fantastic work.
I'm sorry, maybe I should have been a little more specific with my wording. I suppose that what I may have been trying to say is that I would like to build a computer that has the look and feel of an old Nintendo NES system and that would be powerful enough for today's work. Look old, act new.... that's what I want. With new technology I could make one even smaller but the NES is just neat
Interesting idea, I'll give you that. Building a computer inside a NES. With NES emulators, it'd be able to run just like a NES, except it'd be as powerful as a normal computer. The whole build it inside thing might be a tad difficult, but if you don't want too much modularity, it'd work perfectly. I'd like to see how far this gets. =D

This strange issue has been happening to me recently. I notice that when I shut down my computer,
and then start it up the next time, the time and date of my computer remains the same as that of the
time and date that I shut down my computer, and it continues from that time and date until I adjust
it manually myself. For example, if I shut down my computer on 3 May 2008, 10pm, even when I switch
on my computer on 4 May 2008 9am, the date and time shows 3 May 2008, 10 pm. I don't understand
why, I did not automatically synchronize it with an internet server, and I....
I am often able to help out in tech forums where people ask for computer-related help, so I figured
I should take it to the next step and charge for people to do it in person. I work full-time at a
job that I really don't want to work at my whole life or much longer (I've strained my back
once, don't want to make it worse). It's factory work and I don't like it. I'm going
to school for an associate's degree in computer network systems, and I'll be graduating in
October. In the mean time, summer is here and I want to give a crack at a low-....

okay here is my vent and I am very steamed over it. While I was doing some work around the house

I posted this tutorial here a very long time ago, almost been 2 years since then and its helped a
lot of people increase their speed, so here it is: The first step is to go start/run. Next in
the run bar type "msconfig" Now here is where you need to be, the system configuration utility.
Here are some programs that you don't need necessarily, you can disable witch ever ones you
feel are necessary. (dont disable microsoft programs unless you're sure). Here is an example of
what program I unchecked: ------------------------------ The next step go ....
Here are a set of three Web pages I wrote a long time back when I was first starting to develop
sites. The first one is a two columned page with a full length sidebar for navigation links. There
are two that are identical except the sidebar positions are reversed. Another is "one way" to create
a three column layout. And lastly, a 'framed' look on a page. These are not
'fancy', you will need to look into the code and colourize it to suit, maybe set a width and
centre it if you want, whatever... Please feel free to snag the source and develop the pages....
If you bought a brand new computer within the past few years, you might have noticed that your
computer shipped with a Serial ATA (SATA) controller instead of the convetional Enhanced IDE (EIDE)
controller. The reason for this is to enhance performance and power management as SATA controllers
and their supported Hard Disk Drives have a higher data transfer speed against their IDE
counterparts. And they are supposed to use lesser amount of power thereby saving you more battery
life in your notebook's battery or UPS as the case may be. If you want to install and run ....
Once I ever got to know how to use a computer and found out many things that a computer can do I was
surprised. It all started when I got on a computer for my first time playing a game that my cousin
had let me play. This was 5 years ago and now I am very addicted to the computer and if I stop using
the computer for about a day or week I feel like i'm gonna die or something. The only time I
don't feel like using the computer is when my cousins and families visit from other places. Or
when I play a video game that is not on the computer.....

Does anybody know of a website or application that allows you to place FREE long distance calls from
your computer to an actual phone? I remember there used to be a company called dialpad that allowed
you to do this. I don't know if they are still around though. I think they started charging for
the service. All the companies I've found require you to pay. There's gotta be a free one
somewhere. Anybody know of one?....

I got bored and lazy working on the things that I should do... so I end up creating this tree menu
for anyone to use if they find it interesting. Well the idea is to create a tree menu in a webage.
Instead of those linear menu it would be better to add more dynamic to your webpage with a tree
menu. Others use image rollovers. As expecte the tree menu should behave like the one in Windows
Explorer. When you click a node depending on its state it will pull down or pull up its chlid nodes.

The fastest computer on Earth just got a whole lot faster. According to data gathered by the Top500
list (www.top500.org), IBM’s Blue Gene/L supercomputer, which runs at the Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory in California, has dramatically extended its lead over competitors by achieving
speeds of 280.6 trillion floating-point operations per second (teraflops)—more than double the
136.8-teraflop speeds the system clocked in June. The achievement, along with other advancements
from supercomputers in the U.S., mark the completion of a ten-year to develop supercompute....

I recently got a new computer, a NEC i-Select D5410. A few days ago it started to randomly crash,
and all inputs and outputs were cut. The monitor displayed "No Signal", the keyboard and mouse
stopped working and the speakers cut out, yet the power light remained on, and the fans were still
spinning. Opening the DVD and CD drive still worked, so it isn't a power or mobo failure, as far
as I am aware. In an attempt to remedy the problem I have moved the computer into a more open area
to try and improve air flow, as I belive the problem is overheating or lack of air c....
