| | I believe this is a good place to put this topic. But, i've made 2 avatars for Admins and Mods. Encouraged by Wassie. I'm not really sure how to post images from the gallery here at Trap17 into posts, so i'll just provide a link to my gallery and hope that's sufficient  .

Hey, looks good Truefusion. Only problem I see is the pixel text has a drop shadow on it? I think it kinda detracts from the text, but otherwise it matches Trap17 pretty well IMO

You might also try hosting it at Imageshack dot com. Unfortunately, the bbcode doesn't allow you to size them with a width or height attribute, so make sure they are the right size at the Host before posting them.

Holy moly! I thank you all for coming up with so many great avatars! Our staffs are still in deciding whether to go ahead with this idea. In fact we started our own thread not so long ago. Compute, you have no idea how your suggestion is so close to what I've been searching ever since I became a mod few months ago! It's too freaky it's almost The Twilight Zone scary~

@Cool Freaker - Yea, i added a dropshadow to the text. I didnt want the other stuff to distract the attention from "Admin" or "Mod". @Jlhaslip - Heh, i know how to add images to posts  , i'm just not sure if copying and pasting the url of the image will work. But, having an option on the side, when posting, to insert images that one has uploaded to the gallery would be nice. Hmm, I believe an animated GIF would be better than a flash avatar.

hmmm with the gif avatar do a shine through like the color red for the admins and the color blue for the mods and heck even the color maroon for the hosted members as well. Also for the animation spin the globe around too. but the one thing that i don't like is the chain like background, it takes away from it. Plus you have a little room to make the text a little bigger as well, go 2 sizes higher and test the anti alias setting to make it look smooth as best you can. hmm I'm out of ideas now for this project.

we have seen truefusion's pretty works before,i really like those avatars.i think admin group's avatar should be representative ones always for our community.i made two logo for our admin group as well but they look clumsy a little .just show that...i uploaded them to gallery just now. --------------------------------- any comment and feedback would be appreciated(no spam welcomed) administrator group avater  moderator group avater

Man, these are some fantastic avatars! I wonder if we can do some kind of rotating avatars for moderators and administrators.  We can use either St. Michael's or snlildude87's sig rotating scripts modified. And then anyone can submit and it'll all show up. Hummm what collaboration!

I just wanted to let you all know this is the official words from OpaQue (which I deleted). But basically you have the green light to place your graphics in your gallery instead of using image shack or photo bucket. In fact, OpaQue will be delighted if someone would actually use the Gallery!!! This means, you can create an album called "SIGS" and "AVATARS" and let people browse them and give comments--at the same time you can use it to link it to your post. So it's all in the same area and no need to worry about image not showing up. I would like to make the same announcement in the graphics area but I'm sure the word will spread. Thank you all.

Why Do Hosted Members Need Posts Aproved In The Internet Forum?
This is deeply annoying. (4) Ive posted a few topics in the internet forum now, and its really annoying that hosted members (any
member in general but i understand about spam protection) need to have their topics approved. Now i
understand that to protect from spam and what not some posts need reviewing but at the end of the
day, being a hosted member means two things: One is that im probably going to be an active and good
member of the forums and not spam anyway and Two: that if i do spam you can just take my hosting
credits/hosting away. So why do i need to wait for approval? the mods do a grea....

(1) I have a suggestion, make an option where you receive email notification when your credit balance
drops below X.xx credits, and to make the value you receive the notification from different amounts,

[suggestion] Allow Users To Delete Their Own Topic
Possibly only if there are no replies (4) I've had the following happen to me twice within the past few days: I struggle with a problem
for three or four hours. Eventually I give in and post asking for help. While I wait for the help
I continue working on the problem. An hour or two down the road I figure out the issue on my own.
As such, I no longer need the topic I created. I'd like to delete it so as not to waste
people's time (and clutter up the sub forum), but I don't have the privileges to do so.
Being able to delete your own topics would allow users to self moderate, and cut down on....
Suggestion: "buying" More Space
Use credits for something else as well... (5) I'm thinking of setting up a system of "buying" more webspace for your site, just like the
domain name feature. Say, if you pay 20 credits, you get another 100 MB of bandwidth for your site.
Or, if you pay 40 credits, you get 10 MB more space. What do you think? Sorry, could you change
the "buy" in the title into "buying"? It seems like I'm trying to promote a paid hosting site.

Ability For Non-hosted Members To Award Credits.
(11) As I already mentioned in the other topic, OpaQue has resolved one of the two reasons I am still
hosted, but he has yet to address the second. I would love it if non-hosted members are able to
award credits. Now I understand why it is disabled, because they gain credits faster than hosted
members, but you could put some kind of conversion tax on it so it balances out. I wouldn't
mind. I just feel like I'm wasting a credit a day on nothing. The only reason I still have my

Trap Feedbacker Sig/avatar
(6) Ah the boring old trap feedbacker. Probably the most active account without a sig or avatar. Now I
know that non-members can't see sigs or avatars but us members should see something more than
just the name. I usually recognize a member here by his or her avatar rather than the name. (Oh
there's the hybrid bus guy) (Oh there's the christian penguin mod)... Anyway back on topic.
At first I was thinking that the Trap feedbacker should have a sig with a link linking back to the
topic where opaque introduced it. I'm sure new members don't even know....

I Think Avatars/image Signatures Should Be Necessary.
Or at least just for Hosted members. (14) I'm always annoyed on forums, by people who don't have avatars or images in their signature
to identify themselves. Topics with rows after rows of people talking with nothing but their
name's to identify themselves gets abit tiresome. Maybe it's because I've become lazy,
but the only real forum members I can remember are ones with distinguishing avatars/sigs. The rest
are just a blur of random names- even if they have over 500 posts. That's why I think it should

Fantasico Issue / Suggestion
Addon Script (3) I do not even know what fantasico is, and I dont plan on using it, however I clicked on it in the
Cpanel and I got this message... QUOTE The server was not able to find the document

might also want to report this error to your webhost. Alot of hosts offer a larger variety of

Tutorial Index Suggestion
(5) A member (.nol) brought up an excellent point today. Index (table of content) of tutorials. An
easy way to browse what kinds of tutorials are available in Trap17--both general and GFX. The
simplest way of doing this is to generate RSS by sub-forum and then present it via Annex (for those
who do not know it's our Community page). Or, if OpaQue grants, I can include HTML code to
Tutorial Index forum post. Either way, it should be automated and updated according to RSS feed.
RSS is the easy part. What I would like for all members of Trap17 to do is think about how RS....
Limiting Max Number Of Credit Posts Suggestion?
(19) How about that Trap17 limits maximum number of posts that you can get credits for in one day? My

post that day and get the problem of having to post again.....
Gfx Section Suggestion
(8) I think posting in the Showoff thread under the GFX Section should be counted for credits. That is
probably my favorite section. I am not making this suggestion for myself but the Showoff section is
really one of the major parts of the GFX section and it doesnt even count credits. I dont want
anyone to get mad at me for making this suggestion so if you dont like it then just leave it be.....

suggestion (2) hello,admin,mod and member... i got a idea because i found that there are many good topic which can
invoke member's interesting,who would like to be active here and reply those good post.so many
hot topic should be award IMO in order to promote member's enthusiasm and keep active in forum
readily and enjoyful. that so-called award is just add their credit a bit +1 or any other award
you are able to think out.there should be a fixed or pinned post to evaluate hot post and award
it,like SOTW in GFX section. we can find the most popular or hot topic per week or m....
A Suggestion To All Mods And Admins.
A suggestion. (13) Hey guys. As some of the mods may know (Jlhaslip and Mayank among others), I report a fair amount
of posts and users. And I have a suggestion, since this is how I find this stuff. If you see a new
member with under 75 posts, that has posted a topic UNDER 50-70 characters, you need to review all
of his posts. I have caught three members within two days by doing this. And I will continue to do
this. The reason is these people tend to have the nasty habit of posting consistently short posts.
And although it may seem innocent on some of the short topic posts, I soon f....
How To Sustain Hosting Credits
A guide for the members (19) I sometimes see trap17 members complaining about spending hours a day in an attempt to sustain
hosting credits. This is especially true in the reviews. It really isn't that hard. Here's
my advice on doing so efficiently. 1. The number of posts you make at trap17 doesn't determine
how many credits you receive. The staff even announced it, and it should be quite obvious, really.
Credits are determined by the content and quality of your posts. Make longer ones, I guess. 2. So
how do I sustain a nifty amount of credits? First, set a time you can post at trap17 ....
Trap17 Suggestions
a button and topsites 4 trap17 members (5) I have some good Ideas. I think we should have a button on the top of the forums that brings you
back to the forum index. Also, I think we should have a topsites list for trap17. There are many
good free ones out there, and I think it would be amazing. Think of how we would think of other
members? Joining would be optional. It would iclude the top 10 and baners for them in a nice little
table, and the rest can upload or provide an icon to the left if they are in the top 50, and the
rest are shown on a seperate page. What do you guys think of these ideas?....

Credits Suggestion
This will help forum profits! (3) I suggest that you make it possible for people to buy credits. The credits should be cheaper than
actual paid hosting. I think this is a good idea becuase users can post their way to getting 10
credits, but to keep their hosting they can buy, say, 100 credits. Then 100 days later they can buy
another 100. I think this will really lead to the success of this forum. Hope I helped.....
Allow Members To Edit And Delete Posts
Make The Lives Of Us And Mods Easier (9) Ok so your happily posting and you hit the post button too many times because your internet is slow.
We can't delete our own posts so we have to let a mod know. Or you want to add to your post. I
personally think this is kind of a good idea because it will help the forums run more smothely if
people can edit or delete their posts. What do you guys think?....
