Oh this may be something simple... but I have never noticed my AOL Instant Messenger system tray icon flashing like this before. Can anyone tell me what it means? I hope it's nothing serious.

I believe it means you've got mail. You probably heard a sound along with that blinking. You can also check your preferences if anything.

hahaha you were right. Although I never signed up AOL email account, I suppose it's AOL's new tactic to bring more spam to my life. I had to go through whole trouble of remembering my password and confirming it...arrrgh. Yes, so it was an email notification. The email was from AOL telling me that I received an email. I don't like AOL!

It's funny though--my other AIM did not register any email nor received one. I guess AOL is selectively sending emails?
