Hi all, How does the internet affect your thinking ability?? There's little real
"accountability" out there on the net. Anybody can post just about anything ... I you take what
someone says on the net at "face value" ... and believe it. ..then the "wrong" idea gets inside
your head .. and can make you "stupid". Some associated questions to think about: Who do you believe
as an authority on a subject ???? Who do you trust?? How do know when to trust them? How many "blind
alleys" have you been led down by mis-informed ppl, lying ppl, or just plain stupid ppl with no r...

I`d say i spend 6 - 8 hours per day on average! Roughly 2 hours on FNH forums....

There is a huge amount of information on the internet. It can also be used for checking email,
playing games,buying stuff, browsing pr0n,etc etc. What do you generally use it for. I think 80% of
the people use only 20% of the web I use it for mail,reading tech/other news,searching for tech

What does everyone think about meeting people from the internet in real life? Everyday when i'm
at school or have nothing else to do I talk to people from places such as Canada, Australia, or
Europe and I build an internet friendship. It seems that after chatting nearly everyday you seem to
know more about a person living thousands of miles away than the people you see everyday. I went on

Just been thinking on a simple analogy to internet and life. If you would say that internet is
space, and webistes are stars, than somehow i think it would lose meaning, couse most stars have
some sort of planets or thingies that rotate around them. If internet would be space then probably
web servers would be stars, and backbone computers would be galaxies. Backbone computers than again
are just main bandwith carriers around the world, and they couldn't be compared to galaxies

The internet is a great source of information and entertainment brought into our homes within the
last few years. It plays in important role to many individuals and businesses, but how many people
actually know what/not to do on the Internet? It isnt something I'm particularly hung up on or
afraid of since im certain that nothing I do regarding the internet is illegal, but it is true that
an increasing number of people are getting arrested for Internet crime. Not to have a debate about

This problem never occured to me until just recently. Now this is the third time that this is
happening in less than a week. Basically what happens is that the internet connection gradually
starts to slow down over a period of 10 mins or so and eventually it becomes extremely slow, to the
point that it becomes almost useless. At that point, a message pops up at the bottom of the screen
saying "Network Connection Unplugged", eventhough everything is plugged up just fine according to my
inspection. Than after 10-20 seconds, that message disappears and the internet pops ...

I just read this article by Reuters that says that some Canadian scientists tested people by showing
them a website and asking them what they thought of it. They found that most people judge a website

Well, just now I was disconnected from the internet and I was like what the heck (at this time I was
connected at 576 Kbps), then when I connected again I was at 2.2Mbps. My ISP didn't even tell
