| | Yes, another update. You can read the fixes at ZDNet or here at the Mozilla Release Notes.
Before installing v1.0.3 make sure that the directory you've chosen to install into is clean and doesn't contain any previous Firefox installations! (known issue)

Is it a problem to install over a current installaion of Firefox?? I noticed the update earlier today and installed it straight over the top of v1.0.2. I didn't even think about uninstalling the old - it doesn't mention anything before the install about previous versions. Anyway, I haven't had any trouble so far (for only half a day anyway ).

I also installed the new version right overtop of 1.0.2 but I did have problems. The installer told me to restart my computer, but when I did the browser wouldn't open. It kept telling me that I needed to restart the computer before I could use it. The problem obviously was that I had already restarted the computer. I tried restarting again 2 more times and still got the same result. I had unfortunately done some registry edits I found online to disable my IE so I was stuck with no browser at all to even re-download firefox. I ended up getting firefox on another computer, burned it to CD, then uninstalled the messed up firefox, then re-installed v1.0.3. Now all is good. What a pain!

I don't see why they don't use patches so we don't have to install the whole browser. If its about security I'll download it. Thanks for the heads up.

Firefox 2 To Firefox 3 - Is It Worth Upgrading?
Let's settle this matter once and for all. (45) I was only recently made aware of the release of Firefox 3, having not been notified by Firefox, and
problems with my internet connection that caused Trap17 and similar websites to slow to snails-pace,
so I ended up missing the download day and haven't got it yet. The thing is though, I've
been hearing a lot of negative press about it. I know that there was concern that Firefox would
break Flash support a while ago, which was fixed, and I hear it's kind of restrictive as to
downloading addons and junk. Now, I did actually test Firefox 3 Beta 5, and my only ....

New Rapidshare Hack For Firefox Users
(20) QUOTE The hot new Firefox plug-in takes browser customization to a whole new level by letting
users filter site content or change page behaviors. The glory of open-source software is that it
allows anyone with the inclination and the scripting knowledge to get under the hood and hot-rod
their computing environment. But most of the time, that advantage is available only to people with
the programming skills to make the changes they want. That's where Greasemonkey, a free plug-in
for Firefox, comes in -- it simplifies hacking the browser. Released at the end 2004....
