I've searched and searched all over and I can't find anything about this, the speakers are in great condition, while they're several years old they have been taken care of in mint condition all the time, recently the noise has literally cut in half or less, I"ve never had to put my speaker volume up to 50% or higher and now I can't hear a single thing unless i put it up to full blast, I've checked *all* windows controls, all software controls for my drivers, even updated the drivers, switched from XP to vista which all have different drivers and it's the same no matter what the volume seems to freak out on me and very very seldomly the volume goes right back to normal, which is pretty much ear shattering at 100% volume, so I've been stuck using my headphones to be able to hear anything without the risk of needing to change pants or having a heart attack. Does anybody know what I could do to fix it? I'm unable to find out what's wrong and new speakers are impossible right now which really is dampening my video game enthusiasm and enjoyment. If it helps any I hardly ever have my subwoofer on 100% just because the bass gets pretty loud, and I've yet to see if the fuse for the subwoofer is the problem but it really seems like it wouldn't cause the present problem, all connections are secure, I've redone them time and time again and checked them all to make sure nothing is bare or broken in any way. This coupled with my recent outage of net and then going at 32kbps speed instead of the supposed 8mbps, anyways I'd really like any insight on this, I'm really interested in getting somebody to help me, and thanks in advance for any help.

Very weird problem. One thing you should do is plug the 3.5 mm jack into a MP3 Player or other device to make sure its not the source of the sound. Well if your able to use headphones then it should mean theres nothing wrong with your PC audio output. I'm afraid the problem would lie somewhere between your 3.5mm audio cable to the amp and output speakers. But yeah the reason to plug the speakers into another audio source that you know works is to eliminate the possiblity that the source is causing the problem. If its showing the same problem pluged into another source then its your speaker system. Good luck

Good luck Yeah I don't have an mp3 player or anything sadly to plug into it as far as I know, I have a wide array of ports int he back of my computer for speakers, but mine only use the green and black ports, and i'm sure they're working just fine, it's very confusing and incredibly frustrating to know the speakers i spent a lot of money on are going with hardly any wear and tear on them, and being kept in as good of condition as possible from start to finish, I've no clue what else to do, does anybody know of any good speaker systems for the computer that are good quality? I guess i'll have to start looking for new parts. Edit: Fuse change didn't work, was nothing wrong with the older one tried swapping in the new one anyways and there's no change, no nicks in cable that i can see, i'mjust totally perplexed by this.

As I Lay Dying
Faulkner's Classic (1) Has anyone here read "As I Lay Dying"? by William Faulkner. I recently had to read it for a
literature class at the U. At first I was put off by the style it was written. (it had about 15
characters narrate the book). I guess it grew on me eventually, It was about a southern american
family who tried to fulfill a mother's (and wifes) wish to be burried in a nearby city. Sounds a
bit boring, but it was interesting, and I'm not even really into fiction anymore. at any rate,

Is Php Dying Out To Be Replaced By Java?
(6) Hi all, currently im looking for a PHP developers job and while searching through job sites etc i
noticed several advertising a PHP/JAVA position, the job descriptions often stated that the company
has a PHP based website that needs developing etc but also want to migrate it to JAVA. So basically
what im asking is, is JAVA taking over from PHP? This isnt good news for me as im a reasonable PHP
developer but ive just taken a look at JAVA syntax and because its OO i really dont get along with

Is the traditional RPG a dying genre? (5) Even though I grew up with an Atari (yes, I'm that old, but I was only like 3 or so when my
parents bought it) and my brother had an NES, my first console was the PlayStation and the game that
kept me up all night for weeks on end was Final Fantasy VII. I would sometimes go to school without
having slept at all. For me, an avid book reader, it was like being the main character in a book,
experiencing the plot unfold around me. It's been over 10 years since then, and no other RPG has
lived up to that experience for me, but the RPG is still my game of choice. Ever ....

computer meltdown (17) Hi you've probably been asked this about 50 million times, but i'm gonna ask! i bought
a computer off my dads friends and when i got it it started getting windows boxes up saying that the
computer was at risk. they popped up continuously at 2 min intervals. This then stopped. i have my
ntl firewall and security check this used to pop up when starting up but it doesn't do it any
more. Its then started to connect its self to the internet to a web page that just has 21600 on it.

Sound Notification In Browsers Not Working
(2) On my XOOPS support site, www.warpigw2.com, I have a web based live help application to communicate
with my customers. When someone clicks on the Live Help image and enters their information it is
suppose to give a sound notification that someone is waiting. It used to work fine, and I do not
know where to look to fix it. It is a *.wav file, so pretty standard. It works on my windblowz box
so I know it is not the application. I have tried in both Firefox 2 with the mplayer plugin (it

Sound Card Driver Problems
(6) I am having trouble when trying to update the driver for my 'creative audigy 2 ZS' sound
card. I downloaded the driver, then went to update it and it says please reboot your computer for
the hardware to start working. It then has a '?' in device manager and basically doesn't
work. When i try to update it again i get a prompt that says, "before applying this update you need
to reboot your computer". It seems to me like the driver installed is corrupt. I can't do

Sound Problem
5.1 Surround Messing up (1) Hi there, I recently bought a new sound system, its a logitech 5.1 system, and it's really
good, and has been working without a hitch until I installed new audio drivers, now the outputs are
messed up, what should be rear left comes out the fron right, and the rear right is now the sub.
Indeed the rear speakers arent used at all. My soundcard is a realtek onboard thing, I dont know the

Designing A Website That Can Find Music Through Sound.

designed solely (SP?) for the purpose of finding music. No, it wouldn't find the song you are

Sound, Lack There Of
(5) Friends bought an old computer from some guy going into the army. Worked fine until they connected a
small WalMart home theater system to it. It's about 50watts, nothing special, and can be
connected to a computer/cd player via headphone jack connection. Sound died. Everythign else
works, just no sound. We tried via the CD drive jack, the motherboard and the installed sound card.
Nothing. So I removed the sound card and tried on the motherboard. nothing. I'm not too

(11) Hi, I have two large loudspeakers sat on my desk, and they are connected to a HiFi, I personally
see this as a bit of a waste of space as I also have to have PC speakers on my desk as well. I would
like to connect the PC to these HiFi speakers. I have a 5.1 Headset, and this offers some ports for
me to connect in 6 HiFi Speakers. When I connect mine in, they work, but they are very quiet. Seeing
as the speakers volume control is on the HiFi itself, I have no way of turning them up externally.

Problem With Rear Speakers
AUDIGY 2 ZS problem (4) Hi There, 1) I have the Audigy 2 ZS soundcard accompanied with Creative Gigaworks S750 speakers
(btw. they ROCK!!!). All drivers for audigy are up to date. I have concerns regarding
the Audigy CMSS function, that should make the mp3´s sound from ALL of the 7 speakers. The problem
is that all the speakers sound OK except the rears, that have only about 10% of the volume the other
speakers have (the games work absolutely properly in surround mode, in EAX for ex). And the problem
is not in the surround mixer, all the speakers are set to 100%, the rears too......
5.1 Sound System Problems
Need help... (6) I have a 5.1 Sound System. It works great in 2 channels but when I switch to 5.1 the subwoofer
ain't working. My motherboard has a nvidia 4 ultra chipset so it supports 5.1 configuration.
Also in nvidia mixer when I use sound test everything is great and I can hear the subwooofer working
as is should. But when I want to watch a movie or listen to music the subwoofer is as good as dead.
Can somebody help me? ....

Logitech, Creative, Altec Lansing, etc. (13) Personally, I think that creative makes good speakers, not the best, but kind of on the ihgh end
side. If you want your speakers to sound good for gaming or hard rock music, altec lansing would be
your best choice as the sub-woofer is built to produce stronger bass. But if you just want it for
quality easy listening, Creative speakers are your best choice. I'm not sure about creative
speakers but I can introduce a few good ones to you. Creative's I-Trigue 3200 is consider a low
end one which cost only $80 I-Trigue L3450 is consider and mid range speaker wh....
