| | If someone could find a direct comparrison with a Boeing 747 that would be awesome. As far as I saw, it is bigger, lighter and more fuel efficient than the 30 or so year old 747. |

I read from the Boeing site, they were going to release a new luxury jet, that may counter the Airbus A380 but to me it seems they are on different markets. One is for luxury, the other one is for commercial and economy styled. I don't think it's going to compete with the Airbus A380 that well...

oohh .. the dimension of airbus a380 is slightly bigger than boeing 747 but the capacity of airbus is better . this may suggest that design of airbus a380 is more space saving
and also 2 levels .. but i wonder if there's really that much people want a business class or first class seats. I've seen that airbus has added alot of business class seats in a380. May be im just too poor .. or perhaps people r so rich nowadays
I love the idea, yet for normal average working class people it will be pricey. Not everyone will be able to enjoy the full effect of the a380. I saw it a while back on discovery and i was like : "whoa!" - but i or my family can't afford it. If i get a good job after i study, i'll just takea a normal place to thailand (i really want to go again, i went when i was a kid).
I would say a resounding YES! The 747 is the largest ( to my knowledge - and has been for a long time) and has been a great success. The bigger planes get - ( within techological limits and costing) the better for the traveller - since it brings down the cost of our travel. And certainly if they put stuff like Casino's - shops etc it will help break the monotony. I used to fly to Malaysia quite a lot ( 13 hours - pain!) and when they brought in new entertainment like individual seat back TV's it made SUCH a difference - it really was a great leap forward and turned the journey into something that was bearable. More space ( as reported on the Airbus) will allow a lot more comfort and leisure activities according to Virgins plans so its a good thing.
Airports will soon expand to accomodate bigger planes - just as they did for the 747. Downside is of course if one crashes - more people are at risk...
yes it's a nice big plane but it hasn't even flown yet hahaha. i think it will fly but maybe it's too big
Yeah man of course thare will be enough customers for it I mean Virgin will be puting a casino in there, how ever we cant get to excited about it I mean they haven't ever tested the thing yet, no one knows if the mammoth of a plane will fly or not, my moneys on not (lol), any way this is set to revolutionise air travel , so good look to them, I bet Boeing hate it tho.
