I marked myself as addicted, because lets face it, I am ALWAYS staring at the screen of my monitor. I really should be doing many other things, but it's seems that almost all my waking hours are in front of the computer... whether it be for work, play, television, reading, research... there's just a never ending supply of stuff that I can do online that doesn't let me break away from it. I always think to myself... if only there were more hours in a day... then I could do all this on the internet, and make time to do things that aren't on a computer, but hey, I'm sure if there were more hours, I'd probably just be doing the same thing that I am now - spending it doing one thing or another on the computer. There's a few times a year that I go away for a while (like a week camping...) and I almost go insane because I can't get online. It's strange how dependent a person can become of a machine. And to think, that I grew up without a computer at all... and after we finally got one, we didn't even get the internet until a couple years after that. It seems strange to think that there was a time that I could be perfectly happy without my computer lol. But yea, I'm thinking the same thing is true for me, like bishoujo said above... I think I'm more addicted to the internet, rather than the computer. Yes, there are many things that I do while offline... like reading, music, movies and such, I tend to have to pause them in the middle just so I can check my emails, and my web site stats and stuff, because I feel like I need to know right now if anything's changed. So, you wanna know just how addicted I am? I've been up since around 11:30am... from then, I went straight on my computer... where I stayed for a while, then I got up and did all my getting ready stuff... and went back on my computer... until it was dinner time, so I braked for dinner (I was hungry, cause I didn't really have breakfast or lunch... too much computering going on), and then after came right back to the computer again where I'll stay until around 2am... when I force myself to go to bed, because if I don't I tend to stay at my computer until 5am or later... and then I never wake up Yep, I'm addicted

as i have told in many other forums, if you feel you are addicted then try to divert your attention to something else. it maybe reading books, driving around your town simply, watching your mom cook etc. those things will get you to divert your attention and in long term process it will totally diminish your addiction. best luck to you!

I'm now saying that I'm a Computer Addict because I cannot sleep or I cannot live without using my Computer! In 1 day, my computer is opened from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM except in school days obviously. For me, my Computer is my very cherished thing this time, it's very addictive and it's so wonderful to use it. I love to upgrade and clean it. But, I always explore things in my computer. Here's the story: Since I'm a Computer addicted, I usually explore and explore my computer files in my hard drive. I always delete, change, move, and etc. I usually find some uninstalled programs which are obviously are un-used. So, I keep on clicking them. So, nothing happened. 1 time, I clicked a program which is already unistalled and it's unsused. I clicked that program and a Command Prompt popped-out and start saying, files corrupted repeatedly. After that, I close it and I thought it was only a joke. When I open some file like TuneUp utilities, Yahoo Messenger, that files didnt show up. So I decided, oh well, I need to reboot. When I booted up, I saw a big change, my Log in thingy became black, and when I was logged in, my computer is asking for the CD of Windows XP. But I dont have any CD because when I purchase my computer, it's already pre-installed. All files arent working, so I decided to have a reformat. Oh well, in that story, I learned that I'm totally addicted to my computer and I cant stop exploring files and things in my hard drive and in my computer!

I admit it. I'm addicted to the Computer. I can sit in front of a Computer screen for 22 hours and not get the slightest bored! It's like Hoover, it sucks you in, you can't resist the Internet's after all. Ever since I started with computers my social life has plunged into the depths and I mostly spend my time inside now.

QUOTE(MienTommy @ Dec 20 2007, 11:33 PM) Once I ever got to know how to use a computer and found out many things that a computer can do I was surprised. It all started when I got on a computer for my first time playing a game that my cousin had let me play. This was 5 years ago and now I am very addicted to the computer and if I stop using the computer for about a day or week I feel like i'm gonna die or something. The only time I don't feel like using the computer is when my cousins and families visit from other places. Or when I play a video game that is not on the computer. Hmm, I'd say you are an addict. That is not always bad. I would say, as long as you are productive on the computer, you are doing fine. What I mean is, if you are using your computer time to make graphics, do school work, or better yourself in any way or create something, you are merely exercising your creative nature through the computer. That is my objective and in that I hope to see an addiction.

Coca-cola Addiction
Sorts of addiction (16) When people talk about some kind of addiction they usually connect it with the drug abuse or drug
habit (cocaine, marihuana, ecstasy etc.) but I think that every thing that is consumed in high
quantity can be considered as injurious to health and it's after someone need it for ceaseless
use so we can say it's addiction. I'll give you an example with one of my friends that has
addiction to Coca-Cola. He always come to work with at least 1 bottle of 500ml, but often he can be
seen with 2 litres bottle. He drinks Cola all the day, in work, in the café or just ....
I Am Very Much Addicted To Internet
addiction to anything is a bad thing (19) I AM VERY MUCH ADDICTED TO NET and my freinds used to call me net-eria(means a net being) i
couldn't concentrate on my studies at that time but i worked over it to overcome that addiction
now i only spend 10 hours a week on the net only. i think it is not addiction anymore relative to
50+ hours a week which i earlier used to spend on the net and that too on cheap sites. i think
maturity comes only after some experience. ....
Prescription Drugs
Beating addiction to prescription drugs (2) You could (and once upon a time I did) say just don't get on them, but maybe you didn't
break your sternum while you were trying to heal from four broken vertebrae. I was in the hospital a
very long time, and while I was there they gave me Dilaudid, which is stronger than morphine, which
is stronger than any heroin you'd find on the street. I was very worried because in my job I
meet people who got addicted to these medicines and ended up buying them on the street, losing their
jobs, etc. People I worked with lost their jobs because of it. Until this year, I....
Addiction To Games
(34) So I was watching the News the other day, which is slightly unusual to me when a Report came up on
Video Game Addictions. I thought this was sort of weird, because Video games don't contain
nicotine, or an addictive substance, at least I hope, but further on the Report started to make more
sense. It explained Video Games cause a psychological addiction ,and the addiction occurs because of
the experience, and the good feeling you get from playing them. I am a gamer myself and never
realized the addiction, so this Report sort of scarred me a bit. Now that I look back o....
Caffeine Addiction
Is Caffeine Really A Drug? (31) As many of you may have heard, caffeine can be considered a drug to some. What are your opinions on
this subject? Obviously, like any drug, caffeine can affect some, while others can be unaffected.
For example, I drink soda, usually two cans a day. Now, I have gone sometimes a week or two without
soda though, clearly stating it has no control over me, but I have heard it can affect others in
strange ways. For some caffeine consumers, if they go too long with it, they will get headaches,
nausea, etc. But I rarely see this is people. This is most people's defens....

What Is An Addiction?
Your views on what can be included an addiction (24) Hello everyone, The other day I was talking to a couple of my friends and as I was nagging them to
stop smoking one of them said that my nagging too is sort of an addiction like their smoking. I mean
the fact that the habit of nagging is considered an addiction. That set me thinking that for all
we know, Everything that we do might be an addiction, our computers, books, videogames, Junk food. I
totally agree that Iam addicted to food, books, talking and games. Dont you think that posting too
is an addiction in a way? Freaky but so cool. I'd love to hear about wh....
