Account Deleted ? - REASONS WHY ACCOUNTS ARE DELETED.

Qupis : Free Web Hosting at its best.

We get an estimated of 100-150 sign-ups a day and checking them manually is a tedious task. If our techs feel that a site is fraudulent, they will delete it. We will not send any confirmation mails or wait for explanations. We delete accounts which show fraudulent activity.

Please take care of the following points before you raise a complaint :-
No large files. (Usually over 1 MB).
Sites inactive over a period of *31 Days*. (if no one visits your site - we check traffic log)
No Hosting of pictures/ PSDs / videos / pdfs to be hotlinked elsewhere. (only hotlinks are prohibited)
No Hosting of EXE's, Setup files etc.
Do not store your BACKUPS
No Hosting of ARCHIVE Files. (strictly prohibited.) If you uploaded for extracting a script, extract it immediately. Do not store. Other members also need resources.
Invalid Registration details.
Email Spam.
Phishing sites.
Proxy Sites.
Cheap drugs, pills, Viagra etc sites.
YOU MUST NOT PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF DOWNLOADS THROUGH OUR SERVICE. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF OTHER PROVIDERS TO HOST THEM!! (Tiny files in KBs are definitely an exception)
Violent content, racial intolerance, or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization
Pornography, adult, or mature content
Hacking/cracking content
Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
Excessive profanity
Gambling or casino-related content
Content regarding programs which compensate users for <- snipped -> or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails
Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)
Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol
Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
Sales or promotion of prescription drugs
Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods
Sales or distribution of term papers or student essays
Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others

We will not provide reasons for why we deleted or suspended a site. A site which was caught abusing will be deleted and the user will be banned. Else, you are free to signup again.

This thread is for your information.
With the swarm of free signups and abuse, we cannot give reasons for every account we delete.
Our main aim is to help as many deserving people as possible.
Our TEXT ADs earn us NOTHING. So, We obviously want only the members who are serious about their space with us.

If our account is canceled, is there any way to get our files back, especially a database backup?
My space got canceled for some unknown reason, but I (and a friend of mine) were working on a wiki, so it would be nice to get our hard work back...

If an account has been deleted there is no way to retrieve data unless a backup was held

that's just great.
I don't believe I broke any of the rules, but still, my 2 weeks old space gets deleted without notice.
Since the wiki I was working on wasn't open to the public yet, making a database backup was the furthest from my mind...

I was totally exited about Qupis's service and invited some of my friends, but now I know better.

Hello,

Can I please clarify what the requirement quoted below means?

"Sites inactive over a period of *31 Days*. (no traffic sites - our resources are limited)"

Does it mean that
1) a certain amount of traffic has to be logged visiting the site
or
2) the account owner has to use a certain amount of data transfer
?

I'm guessing the answer is 1), ie Qupis needs to log and see site visiting traffic in the hope the visitors will <- snipped ->
If so, what is the actual amount of traffic required to avoid account deletion?
I can then try to work out if there would be any point in hosting my domain here.

By Inactive Limit, We mean there should be a little traffic to your site. We will re-consider the number of days we wait for traffic logs.

Can you possibly put a figure on the amount of hits / unique visitors you expect to see over a month, for example?
I'm just asking because it's obviously a shame for a site to be deleted if the owner could know in advance what traffic level is expected.

Okay my account got deleted but in no place did it say I could not have a file +1mb so I uploaded it. I was wondering where it is located in the ToS (at the time of my sign-up).

Trap17 Hosting will allow you to upload larger files. I have uploaded some zip files that exceed 7 megs on my Trap17 account.

Hi, my site is currently in the screening process and I just want to clarify some thing.

You say files that users download cannot exceed 1mb- what if we were to split up a download into part 1 and part 2; if say, both parts were 600kb or so?
Also, can embedded files like swfs exceed 1mb? Thanks.

Hi,

I can see two reasons why your site might have been deleted :

1. You might have exceeded your resource limit.
2. Your site must have been inactive for more than 50 days.

I am sorry but when a website is deleted from our servers, then all of the data is deleted and you wont be able to get it even if you get paid hosting. But if you get a paid hosting then you would not have to worry about your space limit.
