Could Not Connect To 2wire, Wireless
- With a HP ze4400 (11)
Hi every one. This is a brief story of something that happened to me a couple days ago. I have a
ze4400 laptop, and a 2Wire router, wich can be accessed by USB, ethernet and wireless connections. I
first connected my lap to the router usin ethernet and configured everything to work like that, I
found the router registered my lap's name. I did so, because I couldn't get my lap to detect
the router wireless signal. So I did this: 1-Downloaded the newest driver. Didn't solve it 2-
Downloaded a tool to manage the wireless connectio. Finally my lap detected the r...

Wireless Electricity
- tranfer electricity without wires (74)
The idea behind this is to get some sort of wireless way to transmit electricity this would make the
process easier and when it comes to people stealing wires well there would be no wires to steal. it
would have to be based on a bluetooth type technology but it would have to transmit much greater
distances than bluetooth can abviosly. I thinking it that there would have be a unit that could
convert radio waves and those type of things into a useable form of energy i know this is probolly
really way out but no one said it had to be possible to be put on here...

http://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/05...rain_study.html Braingate article This is really
cool. While it has been in development for a while in monkeys this article really explains what has
happened. The baingate is a small chip that is placed on the persons brain and senses the firing
neurons. It send this information to a processing computer which translates it. The current test
subject, Matthew Nagle, has been able to move a curser across the computer screen, turn the TV
on/off, change channels etc. The tests that they've done previously on monkeys allowe...

Technology
- good or bad... (36)
Do you think humans should keep getting more technologically advanced, or should we start using
less? You see what I'm saying? We kind of being controlled by machines, if you know what I mean,
and we should live much simpler. I mean, we shouldn't get rid of all technology. I guess this
post is ironic because I'm using a computer. but That's my opinion. post yours.

Wireless Router Problems.
- Keeps dropping network. (17)
I recently bought a laptop(HP Pavilion dv9000) with integrated wireless and I wanted to set-up
wireless in my house. So, I bought a wireless router, more specifically I bought a Netgear 108mps
router, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C0XS0 . Now I got the wireless router before I got
the router and set it up. But made all of the correct connections and ran the setup wizard. I got no
errors or anything. I set the security to WPA2 and set the passphrase and everything correctly also.
Now, when I got my laptop I set it up and everything and it found my wireless netw...
Iris Scanning Technology: Coming Of Age
- (8)
QUOTE THIS MAY SOUND incredible but the way technology is growing this will shortly be possible.
Research by Sammy Phang, Queensland University of Technology’s Faculty of Built Environment and
Engineering scholar, helps overcome one of the final obstacles to application of iris scanning
technology to unlock our homes, access bank accounts and log on to our computers. Of all the
biometric technologies used for human authentication today, iris recognition is thought to be the
most accurate. Iris is an externally visible coloured ring around the pupil of every human eye...

Wireless Computer Remote Power Button - Using A Doorbell
- using an ordinary wireless doorbell [PC MOD] (4)
Credit: original idea inspired by Marsupial at GIDEONTECH (at least that was the first place I saw
in 2003) HTPC (Home Theatre Personal Computer) has been a rising idea back in 2003. Still today,
not many people are investing in HTPC. People think they might have HTPC of their own but I am
talking about the real HTPC--one that you can treat it like your DVD, VCR or Home Threatre surround
sound system. What really makes HTPC? There are several components that truly makes an ordinary PC
to HTPC. From time to come I will be making complete posts of my HTPC. But the very c...

New Laptop Advice

Hi, I'm looking for advice. I'm looking to get a new laptop. It will replace my current
desktop. Bascially it will primarily be used around the house, and occasionally for travel about
7-10 times a year (including at airports, on planes, etc). I got my last laptop back in 1999 so its
been a while. I'm looking at: Dell XPS M1710 (GeForce Go 7950 GTX) or Alienware Aurora
mALX I have looked at cnet and both of the vendors sites, but i'm still not sure. Does
anyone have any suggustions? the cnet review hinted that the mALX may loose position wi...

Wireless Vs Wired
- (18)
I'd just like people's opinions on a simple fact of connectivity, stability, and speed on
the aforementioned topics. I consider myself quite well versed in networking and computers, and
although I am well aware that my nForce NVIDIA mobo is more suited to network as it provides a much
better network management than any of the wireless plug in cards or usb adapters that I've yet
to see, I always figured 56mbps was more than enough than what I would need for my internet
connection (considering it's capped at 5mbps tops with the best of conditions). Even if ...

Sony's Patent On Apparent "matrix-like Technology"

Sony patents 'real life Matrix' Obviously the news report has been hyped up to a large
extent, but this patenting is ridiculous. QUOTE The patent - based only on a theory, not on
any invention... I mean, how the hell can you patent a theory...? Does that mean I could go
off and make a patent on something currently in development and yet not fully developed and have
exclusive rights to the technology or what? And does that mean they have exclusive rights to that
technology? (I think so, but then, I'm not an expert in IP law) Anyway, this is ...

Wireless Network Security

Hello Everyone, I am setting up a wireless network for my house, im finally getting rid of the
dial-up (cost justified it). My cable line will be installed soon, and I am going to wireless
network it so my two desktop PCs can share the Internet access. I've heard the mysterious
security issues, but most of them seem pretty obvious that you have to be ignorant to overlook, like
changing the admin password on your router, etc. Anyway, what I am getting at here is a question:
do you have any tips for securing a wireless network? Thanks! ...
