| | I can't delete a little file using file manager in Cpanel. I'm trying to delete a .png image, actually, I'm trying to replace it. The response comes back as a success, but when I reload my site it's still there. Then I go back to the file manager and go up a level, then back and WOOP! There it is! I'm beyond frustrated here. What is going on? |

Well, if cPanel Filemanager doesn't work, then you can try to delete it using Filemanager Legacy, or if that fails aswell, you can try to delete using your FTP client (which I'm pretty sure that you have)... Anyway, are you sure that the file isn't currently being used? But, if it isn't, then you can try uploading the new .png file directly and select the "overwrite existing files" checkbox, if that fails maybe then, it could be a not so big, but possibly very annoying bug to do with Filemanager, or even cPanel itself... But maybe soon Opaque or BuffaloHELP can assist you in a more "professional" way...  Good luck by the way

How was this PNG file created? Was it uploaded through a (custom-made) script (not cPanel) or FTP? If through a script, then it may have different permissions, and the only way to delete it would be through a script.

The file is part of a Joomla template I uploaded. Apparently I don't have permission. Don't know how that's possible. I can't delete it or replace it via ftp transfer utility, Transit, or on the file manager. I'll give that other file manager a try. I don't know how it could be "in use"...

I don't think the FileManager Legacy will work. If Joomla has the ability to delete files, use it. Otherwise, make a quick, small PHP file for the purpose of deleting that file and after doing so, delete that PHP file.

Bummer you're still grappling with this. An uninstall.php file might do the trick.

Well, I don't know what an "uninstall.png" file is or how to build one, and since admin never came on to offer their suggestions, I guess I'll just have to replace the file on my computer, re-zip it, and upload the modified package with the new file intact. What a waste of effort for one little file...

Well, that didn't work either... Surely I'm not the only person who's downloaded a free Joomlashack template, modified the header to display the name of my website, replaced that file, zipped it all up again and tried to upload it to the server here... What am I doing wrong???? Edit to add: Am I playing around on two different hard drives in the server when I'm in file manager on one screen and in the Joomla Admin web site on the internet on the other screen? If so, and I think I am, how long does it usually take for file changes in file manager or from my FTP client to update to the drive that I'm looking at in the Admin screen? Hours? Minutes? Seconds? I'm not seeing any kind of real response time. What I've ended up doing is uploading a new file, not a .zip package, but the uncompressed files to the templates folder in the public_html folder. That worked, but the new files are not showing up in the Admin site yet... Perhaps they will by tomorrow...

Cpanel And Ftp Down, Hosting Up?
is that normal? (7) For the past 15-20 hours I haven't been able to access CPanel or connect to my domain through
FTP but my website seems to work correctly. I was wondering why is that happening when we are
talking about the same hosting account? I figure that a non-working CPanel could be due to problems
in the CPanel framework but how about FTP access? shouldn't that be a direct access to my domain
regardless of CPanel status? Right now the http access to the site works but the ftp access

Cpanel Webmail Problem
I cannot receive emails (1) Hey guys. I sent a password reset email from a site to sky@central-gaming.trap17.com, and it does
not arrive. I've had alot of emails for password resets and I cannot receive them. My mailbox
says that the folder is EMPTY. Even if I click "(Check mail)" I get nothing. I have tried and tried
to refresh continuous times already, but still no results and no emails. I've tried looking at
my options and settings, both are no use to me with this issue. Support with this would be greatly

permitted I seen to get this error when CHModding the above folder. My boards images will not

(1) I changed my domain from tf2maps.trap17.com to fearclan.trap17.com recently, and when I did,
everything was working fine, except cpanel became really ugly with this rvblue skin that I
couldn't change, and fantastico and phpmyadmin weren't working. Can I get my skin changed
from rvblue to somethiong better, say the one I had before? I think it was called cpanel mod x3 or

Page Load Error When Accessing Cpanel

File Manager Not Working
(2) When I goto upload files using the file manager(legacy mode), the files do not upload correctly.
Every time I try to upload a file, it takes the time to upload it, but the file always comes out

Issues Uploading A File [resolved]
(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

Cannot login as it states "Login Attempt Failed!" (4) Before I was able to login within my Cpanel without problem but now I try to login and it states

As in, which directory? (2) I recently got approved for hosting. I have an account right now, but I don't know which
directory to post my FTP stuff in. (I don't know if this is in support or not; the search
results didn't return anything.) I remember with my last host that had CPanel that you had to
upload it into the "public_html" folder. So I do that, or do I just upload it into the root

Anything to change in the wp-config.php file? (4) I've chosen to install WordPress manually and things were going well so far...until I hit an
installation error when I tried to run the install.php file on my browser. For the record, I

How Do I Make A (video) File Smaller?

big, 790MB. My host can't handle a file that huge so I was wondering if there is any way I can
