That's right, if you can pick an area of your image to make transparent, your file size will drop like a rock. Nice Tip, that can come in very handy. I knew about transparancy, but i didn't know that it made it way smaller in size!

If you want to bring down the size in your image on photoshop, use the image size and birng it down to a size that you like and make siure that the resolution is not to high. If the resolultion is to high, Then you will be taking so time loading the image.

I suggest use Fireworks to shrink image size. It has a better quality than Photoshop.

sounds interesting but the only problem is that i don't have photoshop. sad.gif

how much does it cost to get photoshop? i'm thinking of buying it.

I am new to fireworks and playing with resolution and text clarity.  How do you shrink an image in Fireworks? Is it more than grabbing the grips and sizing down?

it seriously costs like 600 dollars. Fireworks is nearly the same thing and its only 299.
