I enter the DL code, then wait. When I get the download, firefox says "starting". I know it is not my ISP because I have 5M/B per Secound. I live in the usa.

I'm sure most of you have heard of Megaupload, a service which enables you to upload your files to their server and share it with other people for free. I use such services so that I can share unlicensed manga through my site. Well, here's my review, and a bit of a rant at the end...
UPLOAD: 9/10 It's so easy! All you have to do is click on the browse button and choose the file you want to upload. Then, fill up the other options in the bottom when necessary. Send it and watch it go! There's also a status bar showing the progress of your upload. Then a link shows up after you finish sending. Pretty easy huh?
DOWNLOAD: 4/10 Now how about the person you're sending to? They click a link and have to click to proceed. Then, (New and horrible feature) unless they have an IP based on the US, UK or Canada, they get unlimited downloads! Cool, huh? Too bad if you get an error message saying all the slots for your country are full. It seems that they base it on how much your country has helped out with Megaupload. Not very handy. I hate this personally, because I DON'T HAVE A US, UK, or Canada based IP!!! It's horrible! Plus, there's not a very big chance that you wouldn't get a slot. It's horrible... You also have to wait for some time before getting your download. Not that I mind it, but the annoying thing is, once your IP is not based on the afformentioned countries, you probably won't be getting your download.

The upload was OK, but the download area pulled it down.
I know this isn't a very long review, but isn't that what you mostly look for in filesharing sites? The upload and download rating? Anyway, I've been disappointed with the service. I only stuck with it for so long because the other services time-out when I upload something. I just wish that they'd discontinue that IP-filtering. It's really annoying and it causes grief for people who don't have the "privilege" of living in the US, UK or Canada...
Ya there isn't really a point of using an upload site if people can't download it pretty fast. It would be better the other way around to have a slower upload than download and less problems with download because that is what you are trying to do. Give the people downloading it a nice fast easy download. Thanks for the review I will make sure to remember it if I am ever looking for an upload site.
Well, good thing they don't put any hourly restrictions. My (cough, not so intelligent) friends don't know how to use Rapidshare, but MegaUpload is a bit more simple (suitable for their cough simple cough mind )
Don't know if that's the case now, but when I was downloading something from Megaupload.com a few months ago, the maximum speed was about 7-9KBps(!) Asked a friend with a higher bandwidth connection to try and download the same file as I did, and he got the same results. BTW: Nobody mentioned the maximum upload file size: 250MB (used to be 500MB).
Hm, yeah I forgot about that... Maybe because I don't really care since I don't upload stuff that big... Anyway, Megaupload sucks for the downloaders... It's hard to get your download at times, and it could be very very slow... I should be changing to a new one soon, but I need a filesharing service that doesn't timeout when I upload... :/ Plus, some of them don't accept zip files anyway...

Not a very good assumption. You can't go around stereotyping people using such a service... I didn't even know that Megaupload's download speeds are slow since I'm on dial-up, and have always been slow... *cough* Anyway, I agree that it sucks. I'm currently looking for a better service that won't make your files expire (Downloads every 30 days or so for making the file stay in the server are fine) and one that won't time-out on me when I upload... I wonder if you guys know any good ones. Expiry and time-outs are big issues for me.
I think these kind of sites are goig more and more difficult and annoying each day. A banner around here, a confirmation code around there, wait a countdown, etc, choose free or premium download... what happened with the easy system of yousendit? upload, download and thatīs all.
Anyway I think there is a high rate of piracy downloads in megaupload but itīs like burning CDs, you know that a lot of people duplicate records, games, programs, etc but itīs not always that simple.
Yea, unfortunately megaupload does have some very frustrating download speeds. Very rarely do I get a speed that goes over 25 kilobytes per second. It starts of nice, but then rapidly declines. I also noticed that from time to time the download freezes up and you have to go back and restart the download, very annoying. But then again, it is a free service so we can't complain too much. I usually try to use rapidshare when I can, but sometimes people favor using megauploads because there is no hourly limit, even though it takes longer than an hour to download the average file from their site. Well, those were my two cents. Anyone else?

Ninety? AFAIK if I download a 200MB file it may take me around 120 seconds but maybe that depends on ISP, location and many other factors. Also my review of MU is:
Upload: Easy. But their servers are a bit slow and there are more restrictions that there were back in the days. You can upload, rars, avi's, zip's, etc all great so I'd give a... 9/10
Download: Okay, real deal. It's just crap that you have to insert a stupid CAPTCHA (Not stupid for the safety of the website, of course) and then wait some seconds but it isn't that what stresses me up. What stresses me up is the crap servers they have in a hour and then suddenly I get 1MB/sec. If I download 2 files, the speed is around 1MB/sec, if I download more 2, it decreases to 500kb/sec and then if more it keeps decreasing to 100, it's just boring and another thing is that they give free premium for like only two hours in the morning. I'd rather get it during all night. I know MU is American but why not think about Europeans and others that use GMT0 or 1? Overall: 6/10
:P MEgauploadsgood for me since I got premium account lol and live in canada too so speeds awesome anyway if you are not satisified with it try mediafire.. Not countdowns or limits for upload/download but there is limit to file size its 100mb if u want to upload big files just rar it I am sure any1 can handle that considering its free.

MU is good because when you upload a video file you can host it at MegaVideo too, but the speeds and the silly captcha (for which there is a greasemonkey script to get around it) is dumb. It's good that you can use a regular account to lower the waiting to 25 secs, RS has 90 secs on bigger files.
I do agree that megaupload is better than Rapid-share however more people have premium accounts on Rapid share therefore more people use it to upload files.

But then again the download speed on megaupload is terrible.
They give 350 MB of disk space and 100 GB data transfer. I am now using them for about 3 months
and never seen any downtime of server problems. There is no any kind of advertising on my pages too,

i created a host spent ages saving up 30 credits and when it was created it didn't work properly

To any individual whom is planning on developing an account with Dot5Hosting (which is a website
hosting provider), and utilizes MySQL databases for their website, I would not recommend it...
Dot5Hosting promises you the best - however, they give you the worst support system ever (you have
to wait several hours or days to get a reply), a VERY small portion of the server, a
max_user_connection limit of 10 (meaning if ten or more people on your website are using the SQL,
you will frequently recieve repeative error notifications. Back to the support again - a major aspe....
A relatively unkown feature offered by Google is it's web accelerator tool. The application
speeds up the loading of pages to save time while surfing on the internet. I usually don't post
reviews (mainly because I'm too lazy), but I've had an interesting experience with the
program and feel like sharing. I first used the application about a year ago I think, back then the
application was still in development and when I used it, somehow it made the bottom bar of the

Vodafone NZ is the worst mobile phone operator I have had experience with. Customer Service is the
worst help service available having to make you wait over 20 minutes to get connected to a
representative. The support team does not help you in anyway. If you forget a security pin they say
"Um...okay are sure you don't remember?" which is a such a inappropriate question when their
website says call customer service to retrieve your pin. Their website support does not even

The basic specs of this laptop are amazing for the price, with an Intel Pentium-M 760 2.0GHz

I have been a Comcast faithful ever since they came to Oregon. Until now, I've had no
complaints. Sure, there's been downtimes and a lag spike every now and then. But that's all

Now I have had SBC Yahoo! DSL for a year now and I previously had it for a year so I have had it for
2 years total. Now I really like the dsl and it fast and best of all cheap! Now you can get it for
12.99 a month and you get 1.5 mbps dsl! The only thing I really hate is the browser. The browser is

about yahoo. They save your favorites so if you have to reformat your pc you still have your

I am reviewing a game i play often called Virtual Magic Kingdom Web Page . This is a game made by
disney which you walk around the disney theme park. This is a great game. I am CoolmanJosh on it and
it is awesome. First you create a character in a disney theme park what better then that, now you
walk around the park and can talk to people. Second you can play some very cool games which is cool!
Then take pics of hidden mickeys, get credits, make rooms and so much more. I play this game
everyday i am addicted. So i give this a 5/5 website from my standards and is awesome....
To those of you that know company : Rogers that provides both internet and TV and even more. When
you are a customer for a long time with them you always get a bunch of stuff cheaper than other
people and you also have to make them see that u want it cheaper or in some cases free lol i had to
find out the hard way. When they released cable extreme internet connection both me and my friend
were both long time users and we both had same old crapy modems. So what do i do... i call Rogers
and ask em if i could upgrade to cable extreme and they say i have to pay $100 for the ....
