| | Hey is there a program that will increase the speed at which you play online gaming? Its impossible to play on a gay ole' 56k modem when i connect at 36k. And yeah, does ne1 know how 2 make me connect faster than 33.6?

Well, I'm not sure if this is a problem, but if you don't have alot of free Processor/Ram, your connection will slow down as your computer can't connect and write as fast. Although, what time of game(s) are you trying to play? That might help to know.

what kinda comp are you using genocide? i think increasing your RAM and Processor will help you out a lot

like said above its either your computer , internet connection... also you can close background programs like antivirus, quicktime etc. by task manager ctrl alt del... if you run other things at the same time that will slow you down for sure

i dont no mabby its cuss u live wher alot of people use 56k but i dont no mabby go 2 a computer stor (best buy or wher ever) and ask them thay may have some stuff like DSL or Cale u never no u should look

 Have few tips as : - In programs connection : no test errors , no detect hole black , no delay time to connect again ! -In win , remove firewalls, filter gate or programs type same - With modem , remove filter , detected contains ,....and firewall in modem .

I don't think there are ways to increase your speed other than reducing other programs that probably access the internet without your knowledge for updates etc. I've heard of programs that try and configure your computer for faster play of games but not increasing net speed. You may just have to save to purchase a faster connection  .

Yes, it's fastly incraising, but that's good for the Gaming Companies, like Bllizzard, etc .. But bad for the Childs 'cos they are playing games all day long, and there can be some bad things happening when you're all day long at your pc .. Also, we[childs] love playing games, diff types but they are all games  It's bad we sometimes enter with our mind to the game, we can make some stupid things after that

I just wanted to toss up the fact that you guys are replying to a post that was made in early 2004, before Broadband was widely available. Your advice is good for today's standards, but people... You really need to quit resurrecting old threads and then giving advice based on things that were out-of-date 5 years ago.

The best thing to do now is wait. The prices are bound to come down soon and will become more reasonable. Till then have to be content with less demanding games
