I've almost finished Oblivion completely (I'm currently doing Shivering Isles) and I have to say that oblivion is the world's most time consuming game. Doing Oblivion gates is a waste of time, since you don't always find awesome stuff to keep. Doing side missions can also be a waste of time since the rewards are sometimes really weak. Personally I'm going to say that Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion is the best single player rpg out there, awsome graphics on both the xbox360 and pc versions. Long story and tons of mini quests. You can downlaod new areas, quests, items, etc like every month. Its just alround the best single player rpg Ive ever played.

I happen to agree, but only slightly. Oblivion is an amazing roleplaying game. It had far bypassed any expectations I had of it. However, there are some "old-school" RPGs which I still think far exceed the amount of setting, story, and gameplay quality and functionality of Oblivion. Such games, in my opinion, include Tales of Phantasia (SNES), Final Fantasy 6/3 (the one with Kefka, SNES), and Golden Sun (GBA).
Its the best in my opinion 2,love the graphics, gameplay, storyline and quests....Im just mad it took so long 2 get released!!!I loved the whole Morrowind series and i cant wait 4 expansion packs 4 oblivion!!!
I'm thinking about getting it. Is it really worth £50 though? I mean, that's quite expensive compared to other games I've bought.
I think it is worth it completely. It is one of those games you that you can just keep playing and getting new quests. There are thousands of miniquests you can do. I was amazed by the graphics too of course. They really made a step up from Elder scrolls III to IV. I do still like III but Oblivion blew my mind. The storyline and game play is simply the best in Console RPGs. The freedom that you have is also worth mentioning. Getting it for PC or Xbox 360 doesn't really matter much. But if you are getting it for PC make sure you have EXCEDED the requirments. Playing this game in smooth, lag free conditions really does matter
oblivion sure is a great game, but cant say its the best. the best single player frp/rpg is baldurs gate. sure it has a lot to read and long dialogues and is preety hard. but if you like tactic rpgs baldur is for you. oblkivion is too much action, i mean, you build up warrior with max armor and you can go to coffe while fighting, since no-one can do you much damage.
I am still playing (and modding for) Morrowind (Elder Scrolls III), from what I have heard about Oblivion it is a step forward in some ways, and a step back in others. Its combat is moving towards a FPS based system and away from a RPG based system, there is no mounted combat for some strange reason. There is also apparently a lack of quests
Anyway, when I get it, I will most likely enjoy it.
Although i haven't played the previous Oblivion series games, i find Elder Scrolls IV the best single player RPG game I've ever played. The class system is extremely flexible and if you have done the newbie tutorial once, you won't have to do it again if you want to create a new character (save right before the final gate). I'm not a basher-kill person although i DO sometimes randomly kill things for fun =P.
I like the realistic atmosphere presented in Oblivion. Whenever i go out on my stealing trips, if i don't get caught, the item's mine for the keeping . Once i even ransacked an entire barracks full of weapons and armory till i went over my weight limit 3 times (had to take about 3-4 more trips of stealing-fencing, before finally ransacking the whole place). Basically, the only thing you need as a thief is to have sharp reflexes, good eyesight and good hearing. Boost your speakers to its maximum if you're playing seriouslyl. If you don't listen intently enough, someone might sneak up behind you.
What i don't seem to understand is that after you steal something from a person and he/she doesn't find out. They don't seem troubled or to mind it at all. I once went on a key-stealing frenzy and stole the keys to at least 5 different houses in Tamriel (is that what the main city is called?). Nobody noticed .
Still, if you're looking for a good addictive game to burn time, get Oblivion.
Overall though, the game itself was pretty solid, with a good main story line (except for the weak Imperial Dragon armour) and dialogue to back it up. The guilds were also fun, except for the fighters and thieves guild which were very repetitive. Shivering Isles is also very fun, in fact it is way more fun than anything I've done yet in the game. Btw, my favourite weapon is Goldbrand, way better than Umbra in my opinion.
Some things I'd like to see though are, more recruiting missions in the guilds, settlements that you buy and sell stuff, more houses to buy, a specific vampire-like guild and werewolves, where have they gone :(.
I'd also like to ask what people think the best weapon is in the game and why?
Oblivion was really good graphics etc but Morrowind had better story and more imagination. Imagine how good Morrowind would have been with Oblivion's graphics!
@Nero
Pointing and clicking does not make good game play. Yes I agree with you that Oblivion is very free-roaming but I honestly think that there a lot better games out there. And if it had multi-player function, well, lets just say I'd rather die

I find that morrowind is one of the best single player rpg. Oblivion is good but not that good besides the graphics morrowind wins hands down. The most annoying thing in oblivion compared to morrowind is the fact that u can get azura's star skeleton key and other artifacts to easy and with the auto move the game gets to simple.
first of all OBLIVION IS TEH BEST GAME EVER!!! and i got a level 11 breton and finished the Dark
Brotherhood. i am curently a vampire... i is starting to anoy me because i ened to feed evry day
just about..... i started the quest to cure it but its long i like teh skill vampires have got so i
was wondering.. cuz i remember in morrowind that u can enchant stuff with a constent effect of
healing .... so in oblivion can u do that because if i got a healing ring or robe or hood or
something that would counter the sun damage then i could stay a vamping with out feeding or ....
Hi guys and gals, Ive been playing WOW for a little while but i dont know how to report a player
for abuse, for example if i was scammed what do i do about that? Can i report them to blizzard and
if so, how? I dont have any need for reporting anyone as of yet but when the day arrives i dont
want to be faffing about asking how to report them or what to do while they are off abusing other
people too. ....
Okay, I've found a glitch in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivioin that lets you make unlimited money,
quickly. I know some people don't like cheaters, but I thought I'd share it anyways. When
you are searching for a cure to Vampirism, you will do a mission for a count. I'm not going to
give the story details, but once you complete the mission he will give you 1000 reward. The glitch
is that if you talk to him before he walks off you can still talk about the 'reward'. It is
grey so he doesn't have anything new to say, but he will give you 1000 ever ....
Just an idea I was talking about with some friends. Seeing as Oblivion is set in the cyrodiil
continent, perhaps any future expansions of Elder Scrolls will most likely be the other provinces.
Imagine the new Elder Scrolls game coming out taking place in the Frostgard province (or w/e the
province is), but it's interconnected with the Oblivion province. So you could walk between
provinces. Eventually, the whole continent will be able to be traversed! War of Warcraft does this
already with their "instances" so why wouldn't Bethesda attempt a similar expansio....

I EFFING LOVE THIS GAME. . . I bought the game Morrowind (an Elder Scrolls 3 Game) about a
year ago... ever since then, ive learned to LOVE the game. I have beaten it at least 3 times
actually playing the normal uncheating way. I was wondering what exactly peoples experience with
this game has been. I myself was a mage/theif, using alot of telekenisis and lockpicking skills..
The game is a huge game for all the people who havent played yet, it took me quite a while to figure
out how to beat it. There is an unlimited amount of possibilities to the game, thats....

HECK IS ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION COMING OUT?! *ahem* I heard it was march now. late march...
so, whatever happened to DECEMBER 30TH!??!?!?!! I wouldn't mind the extra time if they were
adding a mutiplayer or more maps, but no! apprently, they're just tweaking. all fine and good.
it's hard to work with new technology (can't wait for radiant AI), but sheesh, it just
keeps being pushed back everytime we get within a couple weeks of its "new" release da....
Check the screenshots and the dungeon pic, the first pic; second row the stone work is incredible,
not only are the textures refined and sharp, but the wall isn't flat, each stone actually comes out
of the wall like it should!..

Im an avid SWG player, and I hope alot of people here play these, so I´ll try to write down
everything ive learned over the years... Guide to Teras Kasi Artist Beginners Guide to starting
out for TKA in SWG. Ok when you start your game, choose a reasonably full server (too quiet and u
won’t be able to get equipment, too busy and it’ll lag). For species choose either wookie (non
imperial) or trandoshan, then select brawler as your starting profession. These characters and skill
set will give you best unarmed start point to get going earning xp and cash. Right some pe....
