| | We have noticed many more users unfortunately exceeding their bandwidth and thus not being able to allow any acces for themselves or others to their own sites. We have also noticed that their has been a large increase in the number of page views at trap17 from search engines ..etc (which is good for this community).
However we now have come to the conclusion that users linking their avatars but most likely image signatures are losing a great deal of bandwidth with the amount of page views totalling over 50,000 views per day. Whenever one of these many guests loads a page containig your signature or avatar linked to an image on you account, you suffer. And bulk views increase the amount of your bandwidth used considerably.
So we advise you to change your signatures to text links or host your signature images on image hosting servers, this will be for you benefit.
All members post sites for free image hosting here, so other can upload their files to these.

Also members Upgrading things such as IPB uses alot of bandwidth so if you have jsut upgraded IPB or somthing and run out of bandwidth, dont ask for an package upgrade wait till the end of the month.. as you may not even need it.

PB and IS are both good. I use a freewbes site to host my sigs/avatars and an affiliate. Its not like freewebs is good for anything else...

About upgrading things: If you're concerned about that as a problem, simply wait until the end of the month. (Now, or the 30th-31st.) Photobucket, I beleive has a limit (at least I think I read that.) of something. (Can't remember it.. I'll take a look after I get home from school today.)

I've seen links to imgbucket but doesnt work *BLEEP*. Imageshack however is the best! I've tried picgoo, but after a while it just goes down!

Photobucket has very small bandwidth, and imageshack often complains about using the direct image link for posting on forums. this site would be better for using with forums http://www.imagehosting.com/

PhotoBucket is the best in my opinion. Piccodle or ImageShack aren't that great since they delete your images, after a bit and they have limited bandwith. PhotoBucket on the other hand gives you unlimited bandwith and you can upload them and organize them well. Since I am not avid fan of DeviantArt thats why I have my own PhotoBucket to use as my personal location for signatures instead of large art. I find that you won't finish its bandwith I believe even thought they claim its unlimited, there is some level of a limit. Avatars are done by ourselves, anyway so its not a problem since Trap hosts our avatars, they aren't that big anyway.

Somebody Uploaded A File Onto My Hosting Account [resolved]
(4) This has really scared me a little. I went into my cpanel to see a file that I did not install, in

How To Transfer Files Directly From My Computer To The Trap17 Account
(8) Hi! I've been hosted in trap17 for almost 4 months now. In the beginning, I tried to setup a
WebDisk to directly transfer files from my computer to my hosting account, but I didn't manage
to make it work. It might have been from my Vista's weird firewall settings, or my ISP settings,
I have no idea. Anyway, I used the File Manager since, as I don't have a lot of files on my
site. Needless to say, it is really annoying when I do just some little changes and I have to go
again through CPanel, FileManager, UploadFile... pffff So my question to you... How....
Problem Concerning Credits Reduced
Reduced when I created a hosting account (12) My free web hosting account request for the second package was approved, which means that at the
time of the request (the topic itself) or the topic, however you want to name it, i had something
over 37 credits, positive and green of course, and when the admin actually approved the request, and
we all know that exactly when we see some changes on the request topic title, for instance, the
addiction of the words: "denied", "approved", et cetera. The point is that when the admin approved
today i had about 45 or 47 credits, and i created then the hosting account that only....
Suspended Account
I need help and fast (1) My account was recently suspended because my hosting credits went below 0.00 days, this was totally
unintentional because i was away and didn't have access to a computer. It was a family issue.
Anyways i posted in the forums and my hosting credits are now 6.34 days, but when i try to log into
the c-panel it doesn't want to enter. It doesn't say anything about an error, the page
simply doesn't load. I don't know what the problem is and i want to use the same sub domain.

Cannot Connect With Ftp [resolved]
Default account can, but not created FTP account. (3) I have a bit of a strange problem that someone here may be able to help with. I am preparing my new
Trap17 account for my new site, and am setting up FTP access. I can login quite fine by using the
default login details, using my cPanel username and password as my FTP login credentials. However, I
have created a new FTP account using cPanel, giving access directly to the /public_html/ folder,
with a username of webmaster. Below is the result of a Core FTP session, which shows that my
password is not being accepted... Resolving ftp.travstatesmen.trap17.com... Connect ....
How Do I Close My Hosting Account?

Gamma Servers' Problem
This topic is for all who have their account on Gamma Server & ha (1) Okay I see a lot of chaos all around and my site zoebelkin.co.cc is still down. Everything including
FTP, CPanel etc are down. My site is on the gamma server. I see that all the servers are moved
around a lot and the IP blocks also changing. So what is the new IP set for 'gamma'. When
doing a reverse check on gamma I see it is still assigned to it's previous IP but when I'm
trying to access the previous IP's port 80 then I get a Server not found error. Also the
gamma.xisto.com name for the server fails to open the default Apache page which it used to ....

Problems Adding An Email Account
(3) Hello, I am trying to add an email account, but I'm having problems. When I go into my Cpanel
and attempt to add an email account I get a message similar to "the account you are trying to

I was approved but... (5) So, my hosting application was screened and approved about 5-6 days ago. My understanding is that I
then go to trap17.com/manage and then log in. I do this, and see a link "Check your Installation
Configuration (Important, if you have just activated your account)." When I click this, I get a page
that says that my account status is "NON-HOSTED." Am I doing something wrong? Did I forget to do
something? This may not be the appropriate place to post this, but I couldn't find anywhere else

Our Own Email Account
How do I make it and read my mail? (8) Hey guys, I love how I have sendmail and my own email account here, but I don't know how to
access them. When I created my account, I put in my home email address because that's supposed
to be there. But instead of having my users email me at my home email account in my contact form, I
would like to have them email me here at trap17. I went into my Email Management and saw Add/Remove
Email and created one called Custergrant@custopoly.trap17.com...and it created correctly and all.
But if I have users email at this, how do I read it? Do I click Read Webmail? And h....
