List Of Free Games - (With Descriptions)

Ok, so I was told that the other list of games was no good because it was just a list. I am going to start a list now that will include the descriptions so the posts will have substance.

This list can be added to by everyone, but let's use this format:


Here are a couple that I am playing now:

Description: This game is a lot like Soldier Front which is a lot like Counter Strike. The game is more realistic than, say, an arcade deathmatch like Quake for example. Your health is considerably less and the best way to survive is just to not get shot. Using Gear Points that you earn from playing you can buy Weapons, Armor, Uniforms and such to help your character survive or just look cooler. Primary Weapons range from Assault Rifles to Sub Machine Guns to Sniper Rifles to Machine Guns. There's also an anti-tank rocket launcher-- ironically enough there are no tanks. Secondary Weapons are Pistols or Shotguns. Support weapons are various types of Grenades (Although other items are coming for this) You buy all of these items for a set period of time (in days). This game has just been released Gold a matter of weeks ago, so there are still some bugs and glitches they are working out but they are being worked on. Just make sure you don't get caught abusing Glitches or you'll pay for it If you like Counter Strike you'll like this game.

Description:Cars in this game are run on a fuel called Mittron Fuel. The best place to get it is on Mittron Island, and so a new city, Drift City, was built there to tap into the resource. On the island you complete different missions and compete in races to earn the money and experience you need to beef up your car as much as possible. There are a good number of tracks to race on and a good number of missions to complete. The missions do get pretty repetitive, however, as they generally consist of
"Drive here before time runs out then drive there". There are some Arrest missions where you have to crash into enemy cars to cause damage and arrest them, and those break up some of the monotony. To me this game doesn't seem like the kind of game you can really get into, however it is fun to pass some time here and there.

Name: Urban Terror

Description: This is a game where most fighting takes place, you guessed it, in an urban setting. You can get all of the Primary(AK 47, M4A1 etc.) and Secondary weapons (French Spasi etc.) you'd expect. There's also a pretty cool twist that let's you pick one piece of extra equipment. It can be a silencer to quiet your weapon and reduce spread, you can get Tactical Goggles which will tell you when a grenade or enemy is near. You can get a laser sight so you'll know where your bullets are going to hit. Realism doesn't play such a huge part in this game, as the spread (reduce in accuracy) from shooting continuously is a very little amount. Another cool feature this game has is that when you get shot you've got to stop and bandage your wounds or you will bleed out and die even if you don't get shot again.

Description: This game is your typical Arcade-Style Deathmatch type game. While playing, if you didn't know any better you'd swear you were playing Quake. That may be just because it is made using the Quake engine (Actually, so is Urban Terror, but the engine is heavily modified for Urban Terror) There are plenty of servers that are always online and with several game modes available to play (CTF, TDM, DM etc.) this is a great pick up and play game. This game won't offer a lot of the things serious gamers want, but if you just want to kill a half hour or so, this game will work great.

Description: Warsow is a first person shooter which uses many elements you can find in the Unreal Tournament series. Warsow has roughly the same weapons as Unreal Tournament, but with slight variations. The graphics are more cartoony and less realistic then Unreal Tournament. There are tons and tons of maps, most made by the Warsow community to emulate famous maps from other games. Warsow has many game modes, from deathmatch to team deathmatch and the popular Unreal Tournament game mode, Instagib Capture The Flag. The main reason for the very close similarity to Unreal Tournament is that Warsow uses QFusion engine which is the same used for the first Unreal Tournaments.

Name: Trackmania Nations/ Trackmania Nations Forever

Description: Trackmania Nations and Trackmania Nations forever are brilliant racing games. Their pretty much crazy maps which include loop-the-loop's, going upside down, going sideways, going though tunnels sideways whilst upside down. Completely crazy. Anyone who has played Trackmania Nations or Trackmania Nation forever will understand it's hard to explain. It's a great experience and you really have to play it to get a true understanding of it.

Description: I've played this game, very fast paced. Based in the WW2 days, so WW2 guns and costumes. I'm not the expert at this game, but when I did play it, it was very fun but didn't keep me playing for months. It has RPG elements as you go up levels and unlock weapons and stuff.


Name: Digital Paint: Paintball 2.0

Description: Never played it myself, I've seen screenies. Looks like your average first person shooter. You have a gun, in this case a paintball gun, and you enemies to shoot. Easy, nuff said.

Players: Mainly Multiplayer, not 100% sure if theres Single Player
Description: F.E.A.R is a gothic and scary fire person shooter. There is a series of F.E.A.R games, but you have to pay for those. This one you get to choose from a bunch of characters and battle it out on various maps. From what I recall they had free for all and team deathmatch. I know they update it every so often so they may of added new things. They had the basic guns, pistols machine guns, shotguns, I don't remember snipers.

Type: From what I've read it sounds like this game has a bunch of mini games such as pool, snooker, 8-Ball, 9-Ball and more. I've never played this so I couldn't say more then this.
Players: Multiplayer and Single player
Description: A lot of mini games whereby players compete to get the highest score.

Name: Fallen Empire: Legion

Type: A fully 3d (graphics on par with most consoles) FPS/ThirdPS that runs entirely in the browser! The company has made several other games, check out their site.
Players: Multiplayer Online
Description: A first person Warhammer 40K-esque shooter in which you control a Jet powered marine armed with a selection of heavy weapons. I was bloody impressed by the graphics, and all the game requires for it to work with your browser is one plugin. Yup yup yup!

Oh man, that instant action stuff is the poo! (That's a good thing) I can't even play the legions game because my video card isn't good enough. That sucks hard.
