Good Freeware List

Here is the list of my computer freeware - Free Download Manager (manages your download, very reliable) - Moyea FLV Downloader (you can download FLV files form ANY sites!! Not only youtubes) - AVG 7.5 (free anti virus) - Audacity (free tools for audio, we can cut or paste and adjust audio files) - OpenOffice (free office application) - Vista Transformation Pack (create vista style in windows xp desktop) All freeware are greats

Nice list you have there. All of that is fine, but I believe AVG's free anitivirus is just not up to scratch? It is not anywhere near Norton or rather Kaspersky's standard, and things would get even more costly if your computer crashes due to a virus attack. It is definately wiser to invest in a well known, recognized and good anitvirus program rather than risk a hundred dollar repair from a failed computer.

I only use AVG because it is free, coz dont have money to buy norton or kaspersky license....
anyway any other freeware to add?

Aye, i hate AVG, its interface is outdated and it seems heavy on resources. I use Avast Home edition, its free and 10 times better than any paid software and 20 times better than AVG!

In addition get Comodo firewall, again its 10 times better than norton or anything, if i were offered norton, Mcrapee, or any other paid software for free i would turn it down, no doubt!

Open office is great but a vista transformation pack?! Theres no need for that! Vista is sucky mc sucky!

I am using the following freeware on my computer.

1. Autostart and Process Viewer(APV)
Really very nice program, I can't live without this program. I used to monitor
all my processes and manage startup programs with this software. Simple but very very effective.
And believe me, I got rid of some trojans in my system with this software and little common sense,
(pchhh... my antivirus failed to detect them.)

2. Avira Antivirus Personal
I had been using AVG Antivirus for 3 years before they released 8th version. I got annoyed
with their 8th version(A very resource hog). I tried some other free antivirues and found
Avira is one of the best. It is using low resources.

3. Open Office
Nice alternative to MS Office and it is free free free...and very powerful.

4. VLC media player
To view movies....It can play almost any format.

5. Opera
My all time favourite browser....very fast.
It has many cool features like speed dialing, moue gestures etc.....

6. Firefox
Hmm...No explanation needed....everybody knows about firefox.

7. Ashampoo firewall free
Very little but powerful firewall. Uses very low resources of my computer.

8. Eclipse IDE
For my all development needs. I am a java programmer. I like Eclipse to develop my projects.

9. Utorrent
To download torrents...

10. Adobe Reader

Oh my god!!! the list is getting bigger.... Don't worry I stopped writing.
