Free Server Host For Games ?

Does any of you guys know if there are ppl or organizations that sponsor clans or host servers for free like CS 1.6 servers or Wolf ET without paying just by advertising the sponsor on our website and putting it up on the clan name in any leagues etc etc etc... ?? pls if some1 does know things like that let me know im damn desperate i dont want to give 50 quid for a CS server a month

You'd be better off hosting it yourself on this front -

Gaming servers are HIGHLY expensive in upkeep, seeing as they require so much bandwidth. With a website, the most action it will see constantly, is a chat room.

With a game, the frames have to be updated EVERY MILLISECOND. You could make the smallest hair of a move, and have it register on the screen, and have to send and recieve 5kb for each of the tiniest movements.

from what i know your server has to be at least T1 or above connection/30-40gig bw server to go along with that as well to do up a game server.

I used www.nukeservers.com when I had a server. Best prices on the net, believe me, when I was looking for game server hosting I looked for at like a week, then I found nukeservers

Only $1.75 per player per month. Once again, best prices on the net.

I wish they were free, i just hosted my self i have a good computer, the only thing that would make it lag is if my computer is slow because of adware ect. other than that its cool

Tottaly free ? i don't think so. I will use trap17 for ever. Only hard is to get enough credit points when you go away for a while.

Lol.... i would host my own server but my damn pc is slow it cant do for a server... oh well i guess ill have to pay an extra 27$ a month for a CS 1.6 server .... daaamn...

If I were you, I would talk to some of my friends and see if any of them could host a server. But it might be that none of them can, otherwise you would have to go the $ route.

Well-

If you have a decent connection - Like Cable/DSL, Get one of those old P3's throw a few mb of ram in it, (512 is enough) and a little HDD (10 gigs is ample) then you've got a server right there. No special graphics cards needed, oh, a CD drive I guess so you can load the server protocol.

Otherwise, you'll need the cash. But the way above is waay more efficient and economic. If you quit playing CS sometime soon, you're still stuck with that paid server- but if you build your own, and you quit playing CS, and start playing some other server game, then just install a new server- protocol, and there ya go'.

I Think clanshosting is the best, including for games stuff:

I used to use 100webspace wich you can visit at 100webspace.com, wich is good but it also offers 100 MB, and clanshosting offers 250 MB with a higher upload speed (20/30 KB/ps).

Besides trap17.com wich by the way, it's not free cause you have to post, still, it's the best, clanshosting gives 250 MB's and 5 Gigs of Bandwidth and absolutly NO BANNERS AT ALL.
