The main issue to be resolved, at least to me for now, is to make an "All to rmvb" function (rmvb = rela audio/real video = real movie files compressed with the real codecs, which their are known to compress dvdrips to a size of 200 to 400 MB's, and still with good resolution quality), a function that will convert all video files to rmvb, and that is the main function that i require right now, for that i have been using another program like this one, but that is for another topic, i am sorry, but it is a surprise.

This looks kind of interesting but will it keep the same quality when you transfer from one format to another? The issue that I have had with most programs is that when you convert from DiVX to WMV for example, it will horribly distort the picture. I want something where I can convert from one to another and not lose quality. I do not even care about dropping down the size of the video, I just need different formats for various things(like ipods and whatnot).

First of all rpgsearcherz, let me say that, Format Factory is a well written/programmed application, very popular as well among video/audio editors/creators in the point when many of them actually must convert a peace of audio or video, or even both, to a file format/extension of their need.

Concerning your question, and pertinent i must say, do not worry, format factory does the conversion quite well, as well as its competitor, which is mediacoder, which is also freeware too, and i am saying you from my personal experience, and also from the fact that thousands of downloads of the format factory software without complaints at all, only a few regarding their own fault of, for instance, codecs, operative system errors.

With format factory, the conversion is perfect, you do not need to configure things up like in mediacoder, this is way simple and effective, and very fast too, faster and more effective then mediacoder.

Good luck! But you will not need it, i am sure, not with format factory, i have been using it for many months, and i converted many file formats/extensions of audio, video, and both together (mp4, avi, wmv, rmvb, rm, et cetera)

Awesome, thanks very much for that input. I'll definitely try it out later. I was annoyed because I was using random AVI to WMV converters and they always lowered the size and dropped the quality. It would go from like a 200 mb file to 120 but quality sucked. I'll go check this out later though and see if it does what I need,

Do not worry, i wanted to have a program like format factory a long time ago, i used to use MediaCoder, freeware too, and it does a lot more then format factory, but i mean that for really advanced users, so if you are an advanced user or you want to be, download it, but i would stick with format factory if you do not want to confiure/custom things up, if you just want to select-convert-have great results.

I already did a lot of convertions, i mean, i already convert a lot of audio, video and image files convertions, and the results were great in terms of quality/resolution quality and size, and format factory convertion is fast, faster then the programsi used to use.

I had been using format factory for about a year with no issues then all of a sudden it will not align the audio with the video. The files I convert form are aligned. Tried messing with the settings and no change. Downloaded the updated version and no difference. Any ideas. Please help. -reply by Darren Rago
