He makes a very solid point and for those reason I won't investigate into this. They probably scam your mobile credit somehow.

I'm guessing you have to. If I were you, I'd put in a random number, but if you need to get a text to confirm it, I don't know what you should do. Private Phone got shut down this year

Well i havent had any problems with it at all and i have been with ovh for months now. If you fear using your mobile number then get a spare sim and use that one. Simple enough

Buy another sim and only use it to get the validation code and then throw it away.

Firstly you need to enable the text message option on your phone as you need the code from the text message to carry on the registration process.

Secondly it is not available to the US unfortunantly but it is avaiable to other countries in europe. But you could try using a UK number.

Hum, this seems pretty interesting, but as said, why would they need, first of all, our cell number and whatever the reason is, there is nothing free, so they always make money on something. I think pretty much that those are one of those SMS message that costs you money to receive and is like really expensive for an SMS.

I personally never trust my cell phone on internet much anymore, because many put in the TOS that they have the right to sell it back and do what they want with informations you give them, gotta read carefully (I haven't read for this one).

But I just hope they not start spam you with 1000 messages worth 2 dollars each

If anyone tests, would be interesting to get the result, but I guess on your own risk.

Actually do you guys trust much your number?

Well I just read their terms of service and it does not state anywhere that they give our numbers to anybody else, also I have been with them several months and I havent got phone call from anybody i dont know....
