Lots of people have asked me on how to capture a Screen Shot of their Desktop. So I thought I should

How to restore Show Desktop icon in Windows XP Show Desktop is an icon in the quick lunch that
lets you minimize all open windows quickly. If you delete Show Desktop icon casually, you cannot
restore it as usual. To restore Show Desktop icon do following; Open Notepad and copy/paste

Here is the simple bit of code that will help you to create or restore the Show Desktop Shortcut in
Windows XP. Open Notepad or any simple text editor and type the following code, CODE

i click on my login name, it says Loading settings, then the screen just goes to a blank screen with
just my wallpaper showing. You can press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and switch users with WINDOWS+L. So it
doesn't freeze. I tried ending and re starting explorer.exe, and still it did not work. Please

Is there a way to make a link that actually creates a desktop shortcut? I have a page that gives
links to files on our intranet but I know of people who try and make shortcuts for these files. It
would be nice if I could put a link next to the link for the file that would make a shortcut. Use

Hi Guys! I always wondered why "VIEW" menu is not displayed on desktop, its displayed in each
folder but not on desktop. I wanted to enable it on desktop so that I can set the desktop icons
view, like Thumbnails, Small Icons, List, etc. Thats why yesterday I was playing with Shell32.dll

Now that both MSN and google have made public their desktop search tool, although beta, let take a

Hi.. I know someone here has the answer to this..this group always does!! I just recently installed
Bellsouth DSL with a Westell Wirespeed Modem. I added a Belkin Wireless G router so I could surf
wirelessly on my laptop. Here's the problem...The laptop works great..full speed, etc.

If you have ever wanted to sync your personal calendar to your ipod, but either dont use/have

Hi, first of all, a very Happy New Year to everyone. Now for my problem: I use Win XP SP2 on a 2.8
Ghz dualcore P4 processor machine, 1 Gb RAM, 250 Mb HDD. Whenever I boot up, or even when I return
to the bare desktop after having had a number of windows open for a while, my icons on the desktop
are all blank ones, such as the ones you get when there is no program associated with a certain
file. Then, one by one, they begin to get the appearance they should have, but it is a real drag
which takes ages, and the PC is not very responsive while it happens. I seem to remem...

I know that Perl is very common for CGI scripts and is used in many web applications. I also know
that Perl can be run from the command-line for basic applications. Anybody ever make desktop
applications in Perl or do most people strictly use Perl for CGI and use C(++) or Visual Basic for
desktop applications. I am curious because I would like to attempt to create a game in Perl and
distribute it. Of course it could only work for people who have Perl installed. Just wondering....

How and where does Windows XP SP2 modify the Desktop Icons for size? Compaq c300 Laptop running Win
XP SP2, and I just fired up the machine to find the Icons have increased in size and would like
tomhave them back to the small 16 px display size. surely these don't simply modify themselves?
Must be a setting someplace, but I can't seem to find it......
