I used a program similar to this. I was really amazed of how small they compress the file. It makes it very convient to store lots of files. But i hated the fact that when extracting them it makes your computer very, very slow. So if you want to extract something it is better to do it at night when your not using the computer becuase of how long it takes and how slow it makes your computer.

When I first started reading the post it sounded great because I have many large files I'd like to compress. But now that I read that it can only do text files, which is probably the smallest amount of files I have on my computer. I have decided to download it anyway though because I am planning on learning new programming languages and hopefully it will be able to compress all of my design files into a file as back up in case I lose my computer again. If it works then I would recommend it for others to do the same. I'll put all my test files, web site design attempts, and what not into the compression folder, even if it doesn't compress some of the other files completely it still should be somewhat useful.

It works to unzip and zip up regular compressed files too so I think I'll use it instead of using the trial versions of WinZip and WinRAR because they are just evaluation versions.

Hi, I'm vijay kumar. I have install KGBArchiver to convert 500Mb file into 5Mb. But it's totally wrong because I just try to convert 21.3Mb file into 5Mb but it convert into 19.9Mb. So, don't install this software

iGuest, it does what it say it does, the "problem" is that you must have 2GB of ram available and an extremely fast cpu, like a 3.2 or even a 4.

Do you want to bet that it works!!! I have a 85MB file that after you extract, it has more then 400MB.

Plus, i have many compressed files, compressed either with kgb archiver or with the 7zip tool, and both programs can compress like that, but you must have plenty of available RAM and a very fast cpu to make the program work, you can not compress a file like that without those requisites.

Wow, this really works. Highly useful, but extraction... thats probably the only down side. Other than that, its just awesome.

Yes harrison858, it works, and like you said, the problem is the extraction, it takes time to extract the highly compressed file, especially if you extract the file in a computer that has not a lot of available RAM and that it has not a fast cpu, without those requisites, the extraction could take a lot of time indeed.

compress 800mb of 10 mb file ?

 I tryed with my 100mb file to get size to less then this but not working with KBG Archive, when I downloaded a windows 10 in 1 rar file which is in size of 10mb after extracting it came to 800mb how this can be done. Is there any software or with winrar was it happen
