Convert 500mb To 2 Mb With Any File Extension! - No joke. It's a new program. Hot news!

Damann, what a *BLEEP* are you talking about? If i say one thing, it's because it is! Download this file : http://rapidshare.de/files/13918055/MOB2K6.exe.html Then extract it (this one is a winrar sfx archive), it will extract a 2MB kgb file (*.kgb), install the kgb archiver and extract that file, and you will see that it will extract almost 500MB, do you understand? If i say that that 2MB file will extract 500MB, IT'S BECAUSE IT WILL! One more thing, the few *.xml file that has, none of them have more then 100Kb. It mostly has *.cab and *.exe file wich all of them have more then 2MB each. There's one *.cab file there that has more then 200MB, do you understand???? Finally, you need 2GB of memory and at least a 2.8 cpu, or it will take you hours to extract that file.

No i don't think its a hoax.. It can be true with the reports shown on the website.
It can't be wrong from the example archive file that Lyon has posted.
Simply, it just takes alot alot of system resources that we all have to bear with if we are using this compression technique..

Like i said inspiron, and you are right, that this program needs lots of memory (RAM) and a high speed processor (cpu), for example a 2.8 but a 3.2 or 4.0 would be better, but a 2.8 can do the job more faster.

Of course, not many people have this kind of hardware, but if you see the program description at the site www.download.com , you will see that it says that this program works better with high quality and high speed hardware.

But, i say again, this program is the future, it can compress and encrypt at least 5.000 % more then the other well known compression programs.

You said that the 7-Zip program compresses more, i don't agree with you.

Did you try the High Compression Level wich requires 1616MB of RAM to compress the images you said?
Did you extract the file of the above link?
If so, did you see that have extracted almost 500MB of files, wich most of them, at least the big ones in size, were *.exe and *.cab files?
Did you see the files extracted, namely one big *.cab file that has more then 200MB in size after compression (decompressed)?
Did you try to compress you images with the high compression level (1616MB of RAM) and with the sfx archive option checked?

I Think that the people that have replyd here didn't try this options of extracted the above file to see if i am really saying the true, you and a few more seem to be an exception, even though you need to download the file from rapidshare link and extract the *.kgb file, if it is taking too much resources from your pc, just choose the process priority, i mean, insted of a normal process priority, you can choose to check the low process priority when you extract a *.kgb file, it will take longer, but it will not take too much resources of your pc.

One more thing, and also to explain how this program it will be used a lot in the future, imagine this, if you have a movie, game, music or whatever big files to extract, and you also have a good hardware, won't you use KGB Archiver to compress and share with your friends, insted of uploading 700MB or whatever size?

Think about it! It is the future!

lyon2, you don't seem to understand that the high compression ratio depends on the type of files you are trying to compress. When I mentioned TEXT, this is only 1 type of file that gives extrodinarily high compression ratios. CAB files is windows way of packagin files (slightly compressed). A cab file contains many types of files inside which could be DLL, BMP, EXE and any other file types. This means using KGB can further compress the CAB file.

As I said in my previous post, files like mp3, divx will not compress! You will be lucky if you can get 5% compression. IF you don't believe me, why don't you try compressing a 700 mb divx file and see how small it will be. You will be lucky if you can get it down to 675mb.

if only there was a program that could compress video files (divx) into 2mb.. then i won't need cable internet to download movie/anime/etc. AHAHA.. but then i would probably need a super fast computer to unzip the file.. LOL..

no9t9, i'm doing one kgb file and trying others with different file types, and so far, KGB Archiver is much much more better then the others, that's a fact.

*.cab files are also a files like winrar or winzip or7-zip, they can also put a group of files into one wich will be the *.cab file, and you are right, obviously, it can insert exe, txt, xml, and more file extensions.

But don't you thing that it is very wired to download a 2MB kgb file and extract 500MB of almost exe and cab files?

Just to describe some of the files that that 2MB kgb file extracted in my personal computer:

*.dll files - It has extracted a few dll files but they are very small in size, and some with 5MB to 10MB

*.exe - The majority of files extracted by the kgb file, each one have more then 2MB, some with lot more

*.xml - It has extracted only a few xml files, each one have less then 1MB (10 to 500 KB)

*.msi - It has extracted more files then xml or dll or txt, wich each one have more then 2MB, some with lot more

*.cab - It has extracted more files then txt, xml, msi and extracted almost the same amount of exe files


Notes:

There are more cab and exe and msi files then the other.
There are almost the same amount of cab and exe files extracted by the kgb file.
The exe files, ALL OF THEM have more then 2MB, and some with 5MB to 10MB as well as for msi files.
The cab files are the ones with more size, there are cab files with more then 10MB and others with more then 200MB.

Now, even if the cab files have some txt files and xml, that is ok, but the most part of them, i'm sure that they are dll files (wich also is an application like exe files) and also exe files, i can't seem to open the cab files for some reason that i don't understand, but i know that not every cab file can be opened by, for example, winrar, wich is the program that i use to open and see the cab files.

So, isn't that wired?

Everybody knows that if one person trys to compress a movie or music file comparing to a exe file, we will, if we will, compress more the movies or music files that the exe files, why, because exe files are already highly compressed, but, if a new program "gets on the block/market" and shows a new and great technology, a new way to compress and encrypt even more that the most popular compression programs (winrar, 7-zip and winzip), it's obvious that people tend, first, to don't beleave, at least, until a few underd or perhaps thousands internet users start to use and really take advantage of that new program, wich in this case is the new program - KGB Archiver.

One more thing, and beleave me, i usually don't write this much, but when i beleave in something, i go all the way, and that is why i'm writing so much, it is not for pride, no my friends, it is because i know that with good hardware (cpu and memory), and a couple of clicks to configure the program, it will compress media files (movies, games, programs, etc...).

I won't say no more, you will see how popular this tool is going to be.

PS: When i finish my tests with large files (it will take a while because i have 2 works and a family), i will insert the files here for you all download and extract, if not, i will assume that i was wrong.

I tested it on some XviD encoded videos.
26mb original compressed to 23mb after 45 mins on a 3ghz P4 with 1gb ram
22mb original compressed to 20mb
These were with "highest" compression rate.

This just isn't good for video, or relatively slow machines

With lacking_imagination's report, we can conclude that KGB Archiver isn't an efficient compression technique because it takes up alot of time and resource, yet producing only alittle more percentage of data compressed. People will instead use 7-zip, RAR or normal Winzip compression technique to compress their files and send a little while more in exchange for a temporary shortage of memory and a little more compression to their data. Definately one cannot use KGB Archiver compression technique on important huge documents or for a business use due to its compression time. I'll rather spend afew more minutes to send that little more data that normal 7zip or WinZip cannot compress. Afterall its just a little more space compressed.
