| | Hi, I sent you a PM, Opaque, but I think you've been too busy to read it.
Anyways, first question:
My domain name is expiring in May. Is transfer to CH $7.99 as well, and how do I go about doing this?
My current hosting package is just right, 1GB space and 75GB bandwidth (although I never even reached 10GB yet), but I would like to transfer to CH because of my prior good experience with T17, and it's also more convenient to have my domain and hosting at the same place.
Which leads to my second question:
Is there a 1GB plan?
I'm paying $19.99 a year for the current plan I have, which would work out to about half price of the $3.33/month package. If you could let me have the same rate I would love to transfer back.
That's all .. for now.. thanks! |

Well there is no 1 gigabyte plan on Computing Host that I saw but plan E under budget hosting sounds very good. Unless you have a site that uses a ton of space it seems like the way to go. It gives you 250 megabytes of space and 5 gigabytes of bandwidth for $3 a month with the Cpanel and all that. Seems like the perfect package for you.

Yeah, but I'm already over 250MB space. I picked the 1GB plan cos I need the space to expand. It's ok, I could just transfer my domain over to CH? Does CH do domain transfers?

QUOTE We do not transfer domains for you. You must point the domain name at the name server included in your server configuration. We do register domains for you at a cost of USD $9.95 (.com, .net, .org). That's on ComputingHosts FAQ's Page. FAQ's Page

All the packages are fixed and cannot be changed. They are planned according to our estimated resource usage and many companies have appreciated them and found them extremely reasonable. Thanks.

Presales Web Hosting Questions Regarding Computinghost
- About Extra BW, Content Supported and MySQL Space (2)
Ok I currently am using another free host. And I need to make a move quick. I was thinking of going
with company x which offers 250GB of bandwidth, and 5GB of storage for the low 2.99/month. But I ran
across computinghost. I like the fact that I can have unmetered email, mysql databases and such not
offered with company x. My first ? is what is the size limit of the mysql databases? or is there a
limit? Also on the bandwidth how much is it extra if I go over? Another thing, many sites now days
are beginning to post ringtones, basically 10-32 sec clips of popular songs in...
Using Tidy With Computinghost
- (1)
It seems like I may be asking a question or two more in the next few days before I get a computing
host account. Thanks for the quick response on the other one OpaQue. I'm wondering if I could
get either the PHP version of TidyLib ( http://www.coggeshall.org/oss/tidy/ ) or the Perl one (
http://users.rcn.com/creitzel/tidy.html#tidyperl ) installed on an account. The php version comes
integrated with PHP5, but the ComputingHost page says that the accounts use 4.x, so it seems like
it'd have to be installed seperately. Sorry for the strange question, Thanks a...
Is It Possible To Use Sftp Or Scp With Computinghost?
- (1)
Hello, I used Trap17 for a few months and was extremely happy with the service. I'm currently
working as a part-time webmaster and I'm strongly leaning to moving one of my clients over to
ComputingHost. However, my Trap17 account didn't support SFTP or SCP, and I feel uncomfortable
transmitting business information (and logon information) over an unsecured connection. Would it be
possible to enable either SFTP or SCP (or failing that, even FTPS) on a ComputingHost account?
Thank-you, Blake...
How Do You Transfer Files Between Servers?
- I am interested to get 50 MB package at computinghost. (6)
I have few questions to ask. I have two functional websites hosted at two different servers.
Unfortunately I am now short of funds, so i wish to merge the site at one place to reduce hosting
costs. I can take full backup from cpanel on both servers. Say one site is name1.com and other
name2.com. If upon transfer of server, is it possible to backup full websites with MySQL databases
intact? Backing up one such site is not a probem as I guess. If I upload full backup in home
directory and mail admin to restore it for me, it will be a breeze. The problem arises when I thi...

then let this place know so someone can move me over? does it cost anything extra to do so? and I
know some of the cheapest packages there are totally awesome and only $3.33 a month, what's
