i just revamped my personal website and turned it into more of a community.. take a look any kind of criticism is welcome

..the forum is currently set to a pre-made template because i am not done with the one i'm workin on
..the forum is the cms for the website, and is not intended to be looked at seperately, just used as a way to manage content ::hence it being a cms!::

As of January 24, 2005 I have released the new version of the site! It is entitled "Only in America!" Take a look I'm sure you'll like it.. or at least have some words for me!

The layout is quite simple but good. It does not look much different except the box and the menu has exchanged sides and some other things, still the same color..

Well I personally as a girl like nicer coloured layouts but as your probably a boy i guess its good, bit plain though...

yeh i plan to add more images to it as time progresses, but for now i'd just like to have it fast, simple, easy to navigate, and easy to add content

Anyway.. since you say you'll be putting in more "frills".. I suppose I'll check back later.

Btw.. were the weird cursors really necessary? And I think you could manage to shrink your right menu column without hurting your menu.. it would give you more space for the actual content. Then again.. that is just my personal opinion.

Yeah, I would agree with what everyone else has said... The only thing that I would add unless it's going to be an additional page to your main website is to give a paragraph that describes the purpose of your website. or an "about us" or "mission" link. Some graphics and a supporting background would also be nice.

already made a new layout because i got so many negative replies. i made it with more images. i hope you all like it, i'm already starting on the next version of my website, maybe a blue-like theme. kinda.. ice-like.

..with photoshop cs you can do much more pretty stuff than with fireworks mx.

so any thoughts on version.iii; toxic?

first of all, there seems to be a php error, on top of the news...

about the design,

i like the banner and the position of the links. i don't like the font in the banner, because its very hard to read, and at first sight, its dificult to read "zero". on the other hand, i really like the "only in america" font.

i also don't like the "hoover" effect you used, that changes the pointer, to the resize signal..

another thing i don't like its the color you used The Infra-Unit counter, its also very hard to read..

and what looks really really bad, is the repetitive background image. i bet that if you remove that, the site will look 5 times better!

I must say that I really like the top banner, it looks really nice. And I think the layout over-all is good.

But if you want things to change I'd change the Valid HTML & CSS buttons into text links, so they fit in with the rest of the footer. And while I'm on the subject, the index page isn't valid HTML 4.01, it misses the doctype declaration.

And I must say that I think the content background is a bit over the top. But if you want to keep it, I'd de-clutter it and just have it as running text over and over and over instead.

Anyway, both are minor points. The site looks good.
