well i have to say the one feature that google doesn't have is the live traffic report, basically it saying what road are being worked on and other pointless stuff that will make you late for work. laugh.gif. Also it got the multiple destation meaning ROAD TRIP!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif .

Its pretty crappy compared to Google Earth or NASA Worldwind. However, the best thing I like about them is, they don't expect you to have a software like Google Earth. And I think, Google is progressing pretty fast in this too.

Its good to see the outcome of the competition. As far as I can see, Google is going on introducing new technologies and services, while the others are just trying to catch up with them.

makes you wonder what job positions are open over at google, but you can only so much though, makes me wonder how google got all that money though, yeah investing is part of it but still a few billion dollars are flowing around under that name just cause of a few flash programs. They have to be selling them to somebody to make up for wages and new projects

Primarily advertising. Those sponsored links that you see along side search results aren't put there for free, and the ones at the top for popular search terms cost a packet. Google serves millions of search results on a daily basis, and the sponsored links are cleverly designed so that users often click on them when searching for something if it appears related. Not to mention the revenue they draw in from their AdSense publishers, public investment (as you mentioned), and probably other forms of income we don't know about.

As Bill Gates commented in a recently delivered speech regarding the direction of MSN, Google is great, but it's mostly 'look at me too' technology that serves no real purpose other than to attract attention to the company. Corporate slander is to be expected, of course, but it is true. Not there's anything wrong with that - but in my opinion, Google is a very good search engine, with a whole heap of other stuff nobody really needs.

Yeah well Google is winning the game, but we shouldn't forget that there was a time when Yahoo had the lead. The competition is great for us the users. The greatest example is Google Earth which was formaly known as Keyhole and WAS NOT free. Now that Google has both Keyhole the software has become free.
As any good stuff happening these days there seems to be someone who wants to kill it... I have read yesterday in a computer magazine about the fact that some american senators are really concerned that Google Earth is going to help terrorists by giving them an easier way of choosing and planning an attack. Now lets be serious, do you see Bin Laden working on a computer making searchs on Google...I really can't understand how thjey can say that Google Earth is threating national security???

Apparently, MSN is considering firing up a 'paid to search' style program as an incentive for users to change to the engine somewhere in the future.

Google Earth provides easy, instant access to very detailed maps all around the globe. Some are cocerned that terrorists may use this information to plan and execute attacks. The thing is that it's all information that you would be able to obtain anyway - Google Earth (and similar programs) just makes it a little easier. Personally, I think it's a little like the Rockstar/Hot Coffee thing - making a fuss just for the sake of it.

Google will become more stronger.
In fact, i think Yahoo are not strong enough to compete with Google.
Google will become an enemy to fight against Microsoft.
From the news, unsure.gif
Google will fight into the Chinese marker.
Google is going to employ thousands of IT people and trying to develop super platform that can be operate on different OS.
That platform will replace OS. It can search every thing at every where of ur computer. You wont need to install software and you can direct download the programme that you need to use immediately

Google has employed super senior IT person from Microsoft by using lots of money.
That IT person has relationshps with Chinese officals.
Therefore, he will help google to develop in China with smooth going. cool.gif
