I find that these community sites are only good when you have friend on them. Alot of the content there is personal and it doesn't make much sense to read personal information about someone you don't know.

I'm not a big fan of the community sites either. I used yahoo 360 for a while and ended up coming to trap17 because I wanted a blog with more flexibility. I didn't really have any friends that had set up pages so it really wasn't that great. Now I run wordpress and its great. I can do whatever I want and have total control.

I really like xanga.. Most of my friends have one.

Yeah, it's more of a personal thing, but that's what I like about it. None of my friends have the knowledge to make a blog or a website, so this is their alternative.

My xanga is www.xanga.com/satanisagun

Yes, I like xanga. But it's for people who are still learning with HTML and stuff. If you're a really graphic experianced person and uses xanga...people might look down on your knowledge of HTML =/
The controls are easy and quite flexable, but if you want to have skins you have to get a paid version of xanga?! you can do stuff like that on livejournal.com for free! (even though you DO get to edit your headers and footers).
I used xanga, but I never really updated it =/ i switched to livejournal.com because you have communities and stuff like that. My old xanga is dead so you can't view it. Sorry.

I used to have a xanga blog. Actually, it is the very first blogging host that I signed up for. I had three accounts in it because I was very fickle back then (oops! I still am fickle) and eventually I ended up abandoning all three and switched hosts because I wanted more customizable layouts and Xanga does not provide that. Another thing that made me abandon it was The ads are annoying plus only xanga members get to comment on your blog which sucks. Another thing, I was also learning to use html so I wanted a really really customizable blog without ads. I signed up for http://diaryland.com instead... Of course now I host my own blog, I use nucleus smile.gif

I love xanga, honestly happy.gif. It's so customizable and all. There are tons of themes and scripts to choose from at http://blogring.net. I suggest anyone with xanga to try it out. It's a great way to express yourself. I haven't really been with livejournal for that long but as far as I can tell it's not as quality-ish as xanga. Agree? Disagree? >_>

Yea... I used it for a little while... and well... laziness set in. The only reason I used it was because I had some friends that also used it. It's kinda pointless though... but it's a nice way to kill some time. I was kinda creeped out when random people started leaving comments and such. That's when I thought that I shouldn't be posting on this too often... Sheesh... It's fun to use once in a while if you have friends on it too, then you can exchange comments. However, once you realize the whole world can read it... then you might want to protect your privacy and talk to your friends in person.
