Hi,
I've got a very slow machine (Duron 1.3gh with 384mb ram) and i constantly need to tune up this thing. Defragmenting the hard drive is one way up, but the software that comes with XP sucks since it doesn't provide a COMPLETLY FULL deframentation. Now i'm looking for diskeeper lite, but i don't know any other free software that could help me out with this. In your opinion which is the best defragmenter freeware avaiable today? Thanks Nonon |

I have to admit that I still use the Defragmenter that came with Windows XP, but I dont use it that often, I do however think that it is serverly lacking in the features it offers ( its also mega slow). But on a side note I found (what I consider to be) a very good Defragmenter that will defragment stuff like the Pagefile, hiberfill.sys , and the registry... if you would like to try it out the website is www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/PageDefrag.html They do have a range of other cool programs. P.S. as far as I can tell all there software is free and dispite what you may think I do mnot work for them.

It is really difficult to get set up with the right programs to keep your computer top notch. I got about 10 programs that I run to remove junk, spyware, registry errors, defrag, etc. I use the defrager that comes with system mechanic 5. You could also try norton system works. Those are fairly good as far as I know.
