In his first major league start last night, it looked like Joba Chamberlain had some control issues. However this pitch f/x scatterplot shows that 7 pitches in the zone were called balls. heres the graph: http://brooksbaseball.net/pfx/location.php...&v_size=500

I really don't think this is a part of it at all. I'm sure you can find just about as many pitches out of the zone that were called strikes. Its baseball. Joba is getting way too much attention as it is. And as they say, all luck evens out in the end.

I agree, as a yankee fan i also think joba is getting too much attention. I dislike how he gets cheered for the loudest and after every pitch. I feel that Jeter, Posada, and Rivera should be getting those cheers, not the new guys.
