can somebody explain how the warning system works.
i did a search on the forum , but didnt come up with much.
what do you get warnings for ?
what percentage of warning do you get for each ?
what happens when your warning level gets too high ?
how long do warning percentages stay on ?

First read through this http://www.trap17.com/forums/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=165507 and then this http://www.trap17.com/forums/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=188877

To sum up your answer, only YOU can see the warning level followed by moderators and administrators. No other members can see your warning level. It is designed to give you a visual nudge to keep you on track with the board's rules.

Once you reach 100% you are automatically out of the board member and your hosting terminated. Sometimes your IP will be banned altogether.

Each warning issued by moderators or administrators will increase by 10%. While there isn't a set rule when to decrease member's warning level the usual time is between 15~30 days. Do not ask moderators and administrators to review your warning level. We might be inclined not to review in spite of that. When you are being the best member you can be we all notice. And that acknowledgement will expedite lowering of your warning level.

The idea of warnings is kind of universal when it comes to forum software. Whether it's InvisionBoard, PhpBB, or vBulletin, there's always some form of punishment for violations of the policies. Of course, I do find that many websites tend not to employ it at all. It's a good idea to punish users who don't play by the book, but wouldn't it be beneficial if negatives (which is allowed) were used for very professional users as an incentive to stay crime-free?

I would like to add to the discussion that your warning level will not affect your hosting privilege or service quality. It will, however, affect you when you are applying for hosting or requesting for upgrade.

Discussion is closed. PM administrators or moderators for further clarification.
