The good things in life _are_ free:

http://sourceforge.net/
Tons of projects.

No Photoshop? No sweat!

http://www.gnu.org/
Home of the GNU. No free software here, but it does house one of the major Open Source (e.g. free) software licenses.

You can find an Open Source equivalent of most everything.

Oh, and I forgot to post:

Office suite for free. Even a PowerPoint equivalent!

The GIMP 2, although I can't say it is as good as photoshop, comes pretty darn close, and makes up for it's faults for it's scriptability. It has an ultra-handy script which automatically makes an image tile seamlessly.

Wow, thanks for the info.

I don't enjoy paying $700 to buy photoshop, so I'm sure that link will help me out.

Good job man. happy.gif

SourceForge has alot of good open source projects. You can also download a free sound editor called Audacity, which you can use instead of buying SoundForge.
