I had it up and running, then I uploaded a .txt file, then it stoped working. I deleted it, thinking that was the problem, but it didn't fix it. Will it go away by itself or what?

You don't have a index.php or home.php, or index.html file in your home directory, what is the name of your main.html or main.html file?

You have to set one as the mome page /index page

Solution:

So don't delete the index.html or index.php or index.htm file or else you will see a root directory instead of your web page
