Well guys, i'm also tired of waiting 1 hour to download the second file of a file that someone has shared online.

Now, there's a new Firefox (browser) plugin that has only one job, and that is to change your IP Adress by using and changing to different proxys.

You can easily manage your proxy lists and click the one you want to use, and so on, till you download all the files in rapidshare or at any other free file storage/share hosts servers.

Prety cool, don't you think?
Visit the site/blog and forum to learn more about it and to use it wisely.

You just have to visit this link to see better what i'm talking about :

http://www.roundtwo.com/product/switchproxy

And this is the download link of the plugin :

http://mozmonkey.com/packages/switchproxy/switchproxy.xpi

And this is where you can view the tutorial "how-to-use-the-plugin-switchproxy" :

http://www.roundtwo.com/node/130

Hope this will help millions of people that work with rapidshare.com and other free file storage servers.

If you cannot download the .xpi file, you will have to do the following:

Tools -> Options... -> Click on Allowed Sites on "Allow sites to install software" -> Add "http://mozmonkey.com/" (without quotes) and click the Allow button -> Click on the download click provided by Lyon

If Firefox attempts to download the .xpi, let it down. After it finishes, go to File -> Open File... -> Located switchproxy.xpi and click Open.

I had trouble with an extension yesterday, and I thought I should post how I got it to work. smile.gif

Does it really work on Rapidshare? I'm gonna have to try it out asap... this is exactly what I'm looking for! I hate downloading a file on Rapidshare and then not being able to download the next one b/c I've 'exceed my bandwidth' allotment or whatever.

Thank you so much for sharing this!!

@snlildude: Thanks for the installation tip~ I actually had a problem with that just yesterday too! blink.gif

Well, I don't often use RapidShare, but I do know that IE supports using a proxy too.

I love this thing, especially because I was downloading some movie files my friend in Australia wanted to give me. After i downloaded about 50 MB, the third and fourth file were inaccessible because I had "exceeded the limit".

I used this plugin, and changed the proxy, and woala, I was able to download the other files. cool.gif

Anyways, thanks for the news, it really helps. laugh.gif

Let me try this thing... well, you can switch the proxy manually just by going to the Preferences section of Firefox... Oh yeah, where can I get free and fast proxies? Can I use some download manager or any plugins for Firefox that splits the files and downloads the file requested? Anda I would like to use it in RapidShare... 4 splitted files with 4 different proxies... is it possible? And is the Download Manager bug in Firefox is fixed in 1.0.6 and other trunk builds? Because when I pause my download, my internet connection is still downloading the file, I think... I am using the latest trunk build of firefox and the latest 1.0.6 version...
