When I started Skype today it said that I should install a new version because the old one has security problems. Does anyone know anything about this? Maybe I am a bit paranoid but still I would not like to see me computer hacked.

Then...you update? right? haha....

it's kinda logical that they make new versions because of 2 reasons:

1)New features
2)Security issues.

in your case it's number 2, so i'd follow their suggestion and just update

Yes, sure, but I was asking about the seriosness of the hole. I was worried that other computers I take care of may be affected. You can never be too safe smile.gif

Don't worry... if it was a big flaw that could compromise your computers safety, some news site will have the details on that and there has been no news yet!

So sit back and relax...

Yes hujtec,

When I started up Skype a few days ago (I haven't used it in a long while), I was a little suprised and kind of caught off guard when seeing the update patch to fix 'security problems'. But then again, it's no different than hopping on WindowsUpdate to see patches and such that address security issues.

Just update to the newest version. Can't hurt.
