clickit-hosting.com appears to be in maintenance mode. it is what it says in there when i checked...
and since it came to be that i was able to read the maintenance notice, then the servers are up, it's just that there is maintenance ongoing -- but not on the server/hosting side, but from the administrator (which i assume is you). was it you who made the maintenance notice or someone from your team (if applicable)? as for your supposed "addon domain", it does not appear to be a top-level domain, and it appears to be a subdomain from another domain (which is hosted on another service, and not computinghost.com). before you can manage addon domains, you have to have the rights and/or ownership of the domain you want to serve on computinghost servers. and top-level domains at that. as for your support ticket, it's good that you have queued up your problem into the system. computinghost staff will be able to reply back to it, sooner or later. this forum reply from me is just support coming from trap17.com forum moderators (who have no direct involvement with computinghost day-to-day issues). we're just here to give you a rough view of what may or may not be a problem, and give you an assessment to resolve it if possible. you would still have to wait an "official reply" from computinghost staff for this, since you already have a support ticket in line. just be patient however. |

Hi serverph
Thank you for your input, but.... clickit-hosting.com appears to be in maintenance mode. it is what it says in there when i checked... and since it came to be that i was able to read the maintenance notice, then the servers are up, it's just that there is maintenance ongoing -- but not on the server/hosting side, but from the administrator (which i assume is you). was it you who made the maintenance notice or someone from your team (if applicable)? Yes, there is a maintenance notice which I put there, but when I enter www.clickit-hosting.com into IE or FF I get a message like 'The server at www.clickit-hosting.com is taking too long to respond.' (from FF). Also I cannot get to the Cpanel for this web space. And... as for your supposed "addon domain", it does not appear to be a top-level domain, and it appears to be a subdomain from another domain (which is hosted on another service, and not computinghost.com). before you can manage addon domains, you have to have the rights and/or ownership of the domain you want to serve on computinghost servers. and top-level domains at that. This "Addon Domain" was created throught the above mentioned Cpanel via the "Addon Domain" feature. The Domain Name is registard somewhere else but the name servers are correctly pointing to computinghosts name servers. I own the Domain Name and I'm fully up to date with all payments for the hosting space. Also, this domain (www.sew-what-els.co.uk) has been working perfectly for the past few months until yesturday when all links to my hosted web space stopped working. (www.clickit-hosting.com, www.sew-what-els.co.uk and http://216.240.154.188/cpanel) |

Yes, there is a maintenance notice which I put there, but when I enter www.clickit-hosting.com into IE or FF I get a message like 'The server at www.clickit-hosting.com is taking too long to respond.' (from FF). I can get onto the website with no problems. I see a light yellow page with dark blue text explaining the site is down for maintenance. I assume this is the page you put there. This means that it is very unlikely the problem is with the server, but more likely that the problem lies with your computer or your ISP. Also I cannot get to the Cpanel for this web space. I can get the cPanel login box to appear at www.clickit-hosting.com/cpanel/ but obviously I cannot try logging in as I don't have your password. This just further suggests the problem is with your ISP. When you get a response from the support desk, see what they have to say. In the meantime, contact your ISP and ask them if they are blocking or limiting the connection, and if so, why. |

This means that it is very unlikely the problem is with the server, but more likely that the problem lies with your computer or your ISP. Thanks for that. When you suggested the above, I tryed using a wireless connection (thanks to my neigbours unsecure network As it turns out, the hosting server had blocked my ip due to a problem with my ftp password Still... everythings all ok again now. Thanks again, and thanks to the support team for quickly rectifying the problem once we figured out what it was |

Ah I had a very similar problem here with my friend. Those firewalls do make it more secure, but they are many times annoying when it is a legitimate mistake.
