Well I thought I kick off weekend with a Party and what party you may ask? What thats just silly to ask laugh.gif , on Monday Trap17 turns 3 years old!!! Like OMG and stuff, who would think trap17 would be turning 3 already and be just as popular back in hte early days of this fine forum. Every class, which includes 2004, 2005, 2006 is represented here in the forums and through the hosting as well.

I am from the class of 2004 in which while fighting a war I stumbled upon this little site only to check it out and post a couple of things and then come back almost 6 months later to become a full active member. I been here since the posting requirement to get free hosting and then when the credit system kicked off to a great and awesome start, to this day which is hte best programming idea any free hosting company could think of.


So as we celebrate this awesome party, bring back your fond memories of being a trap noob like all of where that one day to what are doing now on trap.

The new forum version 2.1.4 features RATING system. This is similar to the reputation points. But instead of evaluating members individually, the rating system will rate individual topic. This allows two key factors to happen in this forum: 1) the topic will be evaluated by members for its relevance and usefulness 2) a member will spend extra time making a new topic and posting with quality contribution--which eliminates many redundant topics or spam topics.

As you can see, if your topic can be evaluated by how much contribution or usefulness factor there won't be spam topics or topics with one-liner. Will the domain be a .com or .net .org or other?

If the one year of having this domain is over, do you lose your hosting and have to apply for a new one, or it will be replaced by a subdomain?
Members will have the opportunity to collect myCENTS again by the next year and apply for renewal before 1 month of expiry.

We have moved Trap17 forums to a new server. You might ask, why this new server when we already had a dedicated server for the forums. The answer is, server DELTA was lagging behind and we needed something more powerful. Because of which, we setup a new DUAL server for Trap17.

We tried our best to optimize it and I hope, the forums are smooth again.
You might have observed a small downtime recently and wierd results with the MEMBERS ONLINE statistics. That was because, we used IP forward to remove the downtime. So, queries to the old IP was automatically forwareded to this new one.

By the way, the new name for this present server is EPSILON.
