If you are using windows 98 and having encoutered system failure like, not loading windows, corrupted programs or what... you can still resolve that without having to re-install the whole windows, but this works only in windows 98. Maybe you guys familiar with this or maybe an expert when it comes to windows OS. But for those who do not know how to do it, here it goes...

First windows 98 are automatically creates backup or system backup upon starting the windows programs, this was happen without interrupting the user.

This function was creates backup of all windows configurations like system registry and other crucial programs that are needed by windows to run properly. You can also do this manually but clicking on the start menu and then click on the Run command, from there type "scanregw" to backup the system files or system configurations of your computer. the backup files was compressed and save under sysback folder that can be found under windows directory folder.

Once that your computer was hang-up or encounter problem in loading the windows you can restore old setting wherein the windows was run normally. anyway you can select which backup you want to restore...

to restore the old setting of your windows follow the instructions below

boot under dos command

from the command prompt, type scanreg/retore and press ENTER

if you type this correctly another window appear

from there you can see the label with date indications,

select the date using the arrow keys wherein you know windows run normally to restore all the setting back into your computer...

after this press enter and you will see the activity, after this your computer will reboot and load the old setting.

Also, You can backup your system files manually and put it in separate folders if you want....

NOTE: this works only in windows98...
